These days, many people choose to go on holiday in groups, whether it's for a shared outdoor activity - golf, cycling, watersports or bird-watching a special occasion - to attend a wedding or other event in romantic Seville or Granada, or glamorous Marbella a lively hen or stag weekend; or a family holiday, with friends, or cousins, aunt and uncles, and grandparents.
Andalucia has a wide variety of group accommodation to cope with such get-togethers, of 10 or more people, from rural self-catering to luxury beachfront hotels.
Your group can hire a house in the country, for a rural getaway, and for indulging in activities such as fishing, horse-riding and mountain biking; these often feature their own gardens and swimming pools and are in beautiful, unspoilt areas. Family groups, from small children to the more mature, will all enjoy the peace, privacy and total independence offered by such accommodation.
If you want to be closer to the action with your group, you can find a large apartment in a coastal resort, or even a villa, to make like the stars.

Alternatively, if your group's budget is limited, you can find some spectacularly-located campsites, often right by the beach. These offer very reasonable prices, good facilities and the ultimate in flexible living. Watersports enthusiasts can get from their tent to the surf is a matter of seconds. For a little more outlay - and a roof over your head, with basic facilities - you can rent a cabin, often near lakes and mountains. These are especially good for birdwatchers and mountain climbers.
If your group doesn't want the hassle of cooking for itself, and isn't too bothered about splashing out for the holiday, then the comfort and convenience of a hotel may be for you. Andalucia offers everything from simple pensiones and hostales, to full-service five-star hotels with spas (ideal for hen weekends or pampering getaways for groups of mums). Every year new hotels open in the region, offering an even wider choice for groups of visitors, from small to super-sized, with swimming pools, wifi and trendy furniture, often at surprisingly reasonable prices. You can also stay at hotels or casas rurales offering courses, such as cooking, art or photographycourses, an excellent option for groups of friends who want to learn something on holiday.
Another good option for groups visiting Andalucia, offering the services of a hotel, but with more space, are the increasingly popular apart-hotels. These are an excellent options for groups, as you have your own kitchen and sitting room, so you can knock up some food and watch a DVD together, but also maid service.
