Walking in the surrounding hills is a must and for those who enjoy painting there are views and subjects to suit the imagination. Horse Riding can be arranged locally. The early spring is a joy with all the wild flowers. Birdwatchers can expect to see all manner of native birds in the area, including the magnificent Golden Eagle, Golden Orioles, Rollers and Bee Eaters to name a few.

La Zorra stands in its own 100 acres of almond and olive trees and nestles in the hills beneath the Sierra del Viento (Mountain of the Wind).

It is off the beaten track, yet only 3 kilometres from the Autovía, giving easy access to Alicante, Murcia and Almeria airport and all the major cities of Spain including Granada which is less than 2 hours away, with its famous Alhambra Palace and superb skiing in the nearby Sierra Nevada.

Close by are the picturesque towns of Velez Rubio with its colourful market and Velez Blanco with its Moorish fort and breath-taking views of the mountains and national park. A short distance away is the coastal resort of Aquilas. Sandy beaches stretch from here to old Mojacar, a typical unspoilt Andalucian town of great charm perched on a hill overlooking the sea.

La Zorra has 2 double bedrooms and a third room with a sofa bed that could sleep 2. There is a well-appointed kitchen with all necessary equipment and facilities. There is an open fireplace in the living area that is serviced when necessary and various heaters in the bedrooms. All linen and towels are provided. Food can be provided upon request. B & B also available in main house if you just want to stop and relax for a day or two while travelling.

How To Find Us
From Alicante Airport takes the N340 westwards until you reach Puerto Lumbreras. Take the turning off the Autovía at junction 35 and head for Velez Rubio.
