main road.

walks, etc.
Within easy reach from historical centres such as Granada, Sevilla and Ronda.
Village nearby with supermarkets, banks, first aid, etc.
Huerta San José is the perfect location for nature lovers, as it is immersed in the green of its own garden and of the surrounding area. Huerta San José used to belong to a Duke of Toledo who used it as his summer residence. Today, although Huerta San José has been equipped with all modern facilities, it has retained its old charm, thanks to the loving care of the owners.
Huerta San José sleeps a maximum of 8 people, can be rented entirely, or, if you are a smaller party, you can rent one or more rooms, (we will even prepare breakfast for you) depending on your needs. In both cases on a weekly basis, with your discount increasing the longer you stay.
Huerta San José is composed with two doubles with balcony (one has a chimney) and two smaller rooms, the latter two having a bunk bed and a "disappearing bed" (one under the other) respectively.
You can listen to music or watch TV in a very romantic living room with chimney (see picture below). You will be able to dine on an antique Tuscan-Monastery table and if you need it, you can make use of the kitchen.
We, Jerry Zondervan and Alessandra Roselli, the two owners, live
in an annexe, meaning we are always at hand to answer any of the questions and/or
necessities you may have.
"The garden of Allah" is the old name of the
village, which reminds us of its Arab past. Therefore it comes as no surprise
that in the three thousand square metres of sub-tropical garden, you will
not only find the barbecue, but also, in one of the corners, a wonderful 8x4m
pool. To get there, you will have to walk under an amazing variety of tropical
plants, such as cacti, yuccas, palm trees as well as orange, grapefruit, mandarin
and lemon trees. You could for example spend the afternoons lazily under one
of these trees (garden equipment available at no extra charge) and, they will
constantly remind you that you are not far away from the beauties of Seville,
Granada and the other wonderful places Andalucia has to offer.
Nowadays, Alhaurin represents a bustling village (18,000 inhabitants) with
banks, shops, supermarkets, lots of restaurants, "tapas" bars, which are so
typical in this part of Spain. During your stay, you will be able to eat in
a different restaurant almost every day without leaving the village. A regular
bus service takes you to the heart of Málaga, although we strongly
recommend that you rent a car, to be as flexible as possible. Alhaurin el
Grande (the current name of the village) is located 20 km from Málaga
airport, 20 km from the beaches of Torremolinos and some 35 km from Marbella.
All of the above are easily reachable, as roads are excellent and allow for
an easy ride.
The Costa del Sol is also known as the Costa del Golf; Huerta San José
is located between two courses at 4 and 8 km respectively. The latter designed
by Severiano Ballesteros.
If you are not a golfer you can enjoy this beautiful area on a horse, riding
a bike, mountain-walking, swimming, playing tennis or simply taking one of
the many tours available.
