city has a wealth of art galleries which include:
The City's municipal galleries:
The Municipal
Museum in Paseo de Reding 1 (open daily between 10.00
and 22.00); Archivo Municipal in
Alameda Principal, 23 (open Monday to Friday 11.00 to 14.00
and 17.00
to 20.00); the Diputación Provincial art
gallery in calle Olleras (open Monday to Friday from 11.00
to 13.00
and
from 19.00 to 21.00).
Inaugurated in 2003 the Centro de Arte Contemporáneo, or CAC as it is known locally, is an important centre for contemporary art that has become a reference point for international artists.

Palacio de la Aduana
Palacio de la Aduana in
Plaza de la Aduana is currently exhibiting a selection of works
belonging to the Malaga Museum, whilst new premises are
being constructed.
Open Tuesday 15.00 to 20.00, Wednesday to Friday 09.00 to 20.00
and Saturday and Sunday from 09.00 to 15.00. The Palacio
Episcopal,
Plaza del Obispo, has a variety of exhibitions in its first floor
galleries. Open Tuesday to Sunday 10.00 to 13.00 and from
18.00
to 21.00.
The Atenea
The Atenea moved
to new premises in calle Compañia, in May 2000 and have
regular exhibitions by many of Malaga's best known artists. The
building,
near the Plaza de la Constitucion, used to be the home of the
Escuela
de Bellas Artes de Malaga and is where Pablo Picasso had his
first contact with the art world, as his father gave classes
there.
Fundación Picasso
Fundación Picasso
in Pablo Ruiz Picasso's birth place in Plaza de la Merced, 15. Visiting
exhibitions as well as permanent ones are on show in this lovely
old house. Open Monday to Saturday from 10.00 to 14.00 and from
17.00 to 20.00.
The Architects College
The Architects College
in Palmeras de Limonar stage many important exhibitions in their
gallery. Open weekdays between 12 noon and 14.00 and 19.00 and 21.00.
Colegio de Medicos
Colegio de Medicos in
calle Curtidores, 1. The recently restored Doctors' college is well
worth a visit for the beauty of the historic building itself, as
well as the frequent exhibitions in their gallery. Open 17.00 to
20.30 weekdays and Saturday 10.00 to 14.00.
Malaga University
Malaga University has
an art gallery in Plaza de la Merced 2, on the first floor. Open
daily, except Sundays and holidays, from 11.00 to 14.00 and 18.00
to 21.00.

34 is run by artist Antonio Casares Palma, Open Tuesday to Friday
evenings between 19.00 and 21.00 and Saturday from 11.00 to 13.00.

Cortina del Muelle, 17 is open 10.00 to 14.00 and from 17.00 to
21.00.
Marin Galy art gallery,
calle Duquesa de Parcent, 12 is open Monday to Friday from 11.00
to 13.30 and 18.00 to 21.00 and Saturday mornings.

del Pais art gallery in Plaza de la Consticucion, 7 is open
Monday to Friday from 11.30 to 13.00 and from 18.00 to 21.00 and
Saturday mornings.
Taller Gravura, calle

Malaga Airport has its
own art gallery. Open Monday to Sunday from 11.00 to 14.00 and from
16.00 to 20.00.
