Puerto Banus - Buses

Buses to and from Puerto Banus

There is not a bus station in Puerto Banus, however the centre is served by Marbella's local urbano buses and there are several Portillo bus company services to and from Estepona and San Pedro

Local Buses

Puerto Banus can be reached on L1 (La Cañada - Centro - Puerto Banús - El Ángel) and L4 (San Pedro - Nueva Andalucía - El Ángel - Puerto Banús).

These buses stop in Puerto Banús in the following locations: outside the Cristmar shopping complex, outside the cinema (Gran Marbella Cines) and outside the Corte Ingles Hipercor.

See the L1 route map here and the L4 route map here.

Tickets can be bought on board the buses. A single ticket, no matter what distance, costs 1,18€ (correct as of July 2013).

Portillo bus company also runs services between Estepona, San Pedro de Alcantara and Marbella, via Puerto Banus. L -76 serves Marbella - San Pedro and L-79 serves Marbella - Estepona (via San Pedro).

There are no timetables with exact times of the time that bus stops at Puerto Banus, however, our experience shows that bus usually arrives there around 20 minutes after leaving Marbella bus station. This obviously depends on traffic, so make sure you leave plenty of time when travelling from Puerto Banus!

A single ticket from Puerto Banús to Estepona cost 2,96 euros and a single to San Pedro costs 1,18 euros (correct as of July 2013).

See the Portillo bus timetable below for buses from Marbella to San Pedro and Estepona.

The bus stops are on the busy A-7 dual carriageway (Autovía del Mediterraneo). To catch buses in the direction of Estepona and San Pedro, you need to be on the side furthest from the town centre. To reach this bus stop from the centre you need to go down under the road (follow the road with signs pointing to 'Supersol'), come up the hill a little on the otherside and cross over at the first pedestrian crossing. Walk up the steps and you will see the bus stop about 50m in front of you. There are no timetables at the bus stop so make sure you check before you travel! See below for a map.

If you want to travel towards Marbella it is recommended that you catch one of the local buses as it is easier and cheaper, however, if you'd rather not, this bus stop can be found if you follow the 'Walk of Fame' up Avenida Julio Iglesias and go straight on up the path ahead to the busy road.

Hire a car is another alternative way to get around! Consult our general Car Hire page here.
