The singer presents her latest album, Sin Compasion, at the Teatro Gran Falla in Cadiz for two nights in April, and in June in La Linea (venue yet to be announced).

A Cubic Museum
Carmen Thyssen Museum, Malaga
In celebration of its first anniversary, the Museum Carmen Thyssen Malaga would like to involve the people of Malaga in its celebrations, with a giant puzzle in public spaces. 'A Cubic Museum' will bring certain paintings from the vast collection to the streets of the city as a giant six-sided puzzle measuring 3x4 metres, which passers-by can help to construct.

Concerts/dance: Festival Iberoamericano de Musica Manuel de Falla
A festival to commemorate the great local composer Manuel de Falla, featuring the likes of Jose Merce (10 May), who will perform songs from his album Nuevo Amanecer, Peruvian singer Susana Baca (11 May); and flamenco company David Morales (12 May), with its new show “El Indiano”, which mixes rhythms of other cultures, especially the mestizo races of South America. Appropriately, at the Gran Teatro de Falla.

Landscape and Arcadia in 19th-century Spanish Painting
With the current temporary exhibition of 'Paradises and Landscapes in the Carmen Thyssen Collection. From Brueghel to Gauguin', the Museum is offering a monographic course led by experts which focuses on nature and landscape. Javier Barón, Head of the Department of 19th-century Painting from the Museo Nacional del Prado discusses Landscape and Arcadia in 19th-century Spanish Painting. Courses take place every Thursday until June 7th. Price is 36 euros, or for students of UMA and 'Friends of the Museum', only 18 euros. Registration is open until 3rd May, and tickets can be purchased Tuesdays to Sundays, 10am to 7.30pm, at the Museum’s ticket desk.

Music festival: Territorios Sevilla 2012
This year, at Seville’s most important pop music festival, you can see Tricky, Basement Jaxx and Amaral on 18 May, with headliners Iggy and the Stooges and The Orb playing on 19 May. The venue is La Cartuja monastery, across the river from the city centre.

Exhibition: Venezuela: Cuatro Ambitos del Arte
This art show, which takes place at the Castillo de Santa Catalina, in the Playa de la Caleta, is part of Cadiz’s celebrations as Ibero-American Capital of Culture. It features the work of four artists: Emiliano Borges, Enrico Armas, Jason Galárraga y Onofre Frías.

Dance/music: Flamenco Viene Del Sur
This flamenco season brings the best contemporary performers in all the areas – baile (dance), cante song and toque (guitar) – to Andalucia’s major cities. Cordoba’s season extends until 11 July. One of the main attractions this year is the Ballet Flamenco de Andalucia’s new show Metaforo, directed and choreographed by Ruben Olmo.

Exhibition: Roma Quanta Fuit
This show of Roman antiquities, in the new Antiquarium museum, under Metropol Parasol, contains 93 pieces from the Archaeology Museum and 25 from the municipal store. All were found at this site (Plaza Encarnacion) and date from the 1st to 3rd centuries AD, except for two amphora, from the city museum. They include salting jars from the fish conserving factory in Betica (you can still see the square brick salting vats themselves in the ground), the Roman name for Seville, as well as small herma (statues showing only head and square base with genitals) typical of the city. One of the main attractions of this exhibition is the central motif of the Ninfa Amymone mosaic, one of the 18 examples of this intricate type of artwork in the Antiquarium. The title of the exhibition comes from a famous quote, and means “However great Rome was…”

Westerns. North American Landscape: between Myth and Reality
With the current temporary exhibition of 'Paradises and Landscapes in the Carmen Thyssen Collection. From Brueghel to Gauguin', the Museum is offering a monographic course led by experts which focuses on nature and landscape. M. Santos García Felguera, Professor of Art History at Universitat Pompeu Fabra discusses North American landscape. Courses take place every Thursday until June 7th. Price is 36 euros, or for students of UMA and 'Friends of the Museum', only 18 euros. Paul Gauguin, Voyage to the Edge of the World
With the current temporary exhibition of 'Paradises and Landscapes in the Carmen Thyssen Collection. From Brueghel to Gauguin', the Museum is offering a monographic course led by experts which focuses on nature and landscape. Paloma Alarcó, the Curator of Modern Painting at the Museum Thyssen-Bornemisza in Madrid discusses Paul Gauguin, Voyage to the Edge of the World. Courses take place every Thursday until June 7th. Price is 36 euros, or for students of UMA and 'Friends of the Museum', only 18 euros.
