Hospederia Las Cortes de Cadiz

Well-located three-star hotel in old town with historic theme.

Arranged in typical Andalucian style around a central arcaded patio, with delightful map of the city painted onto tiles in the entrance, this charming 19th-century hotel is themed around Spain’s first-ever constitution, La Pepa, which was drawn up in Las Cortes (the Courts) in 1812.

Each bedroom in the hotel is named after a location or character from the momentous day of the constitution’s proclamation, 19 March 1812. The décor is corresponding traditional, without being stuffy - carved wooden headboards and patterned bed covers, and paintings depicting the period; all 36 rooms have safe, minibar and hairdryer. Some rooms have French windows onto balconies. Bathrooms are bright and pretty in blue, pink or yellow.

The hotel offers free WIFI throughout, and a wellness area with Jacuzzi. You can have a glass of wine on the rooftop terrace, which has fitness equipment in a shaded area, or in the café bar with outdoor pavement area; there’s also a restaurant. The hotel is 20 minutes’ walk from the beach, and in the casco historico.

Function rooms accommodate up to 50 people – they can be used as two smaller rooms, or one large one. Limited parking available nearby – reserve in advance.
