Delimbo Artspace
Formerly called Montana, this shop and gallery is a hip hang-out in the newly revitalised area of Soho Benita. You'll find graffiti materials, urban art books, cult T-shirts and correspondingly cutting-edge graphic creations in the arcaded space at the back of this 1919 modernist building.

Museo de Baile Flamenco
As well a multi-media exhibition about flamenco dance, music and artists, this space has art shows with paintings along the same theme on the top floor.

Smaller galleries showing exhibitions of modern works include Galleria Full Art in c/Madrid, off Plaza Nueva, and Galeria Nuevoarte, in c/San Vincente, A number of banks in Seville foster the arts: Caja San Fernando has a small but prestigious space in its building on Plaza San Francisco, while El Monte holds exhibitions (as well as music and film events) at its Centro Cultural in c/Larana 4, near Plaza Encarnación.

Hospital de los Venerables
Temporary art exhibitions take place in this 17th-century building, originally constructed as a home for priests, which also has paintings by Murillo, frescoes by Valdes Leal and sculptures by Pedro Roldán.

Museo de Carruajes
This is housed in the 16th-century Convento de los Remedios - it has many examples of old horse-drawn carriages which were used in the town and in the country, and also other related exhibits including paintings and photographs.

Fundacion Valentin Madariaga
The US pavilion from the 1929 Expo now holds the MP Contemporary Art Collection, owned by the late philanthropìst Valentin Madariaga, featuring works by Andy Warhol and Joseph Beuys. More>

ART MARKETS AND OTHER SPACES

If you like buying direct from the artist, there are several markets with original paintings by local artists of varying quality. These take place at the weekend.

Mercado Paseo de Arte
This takes place every Saturday and Sunday, on a delightful riverside walkwa, in front of Castillo San Jorge and below Triana Bridge. You can buy art and handicrafts.

Mercadillo del Museo
In the leafy square outside the Museo de Bellas Artes, Seville's most prestigious art gallery, local artists set up their stalls selling paintings every Sunday morning.

Red House
Many cafes and restaurants now have art for sale on their walls, this is the most exciting such venue. A relaxed, spacious boho-trendy café-art space owned by an artist couple, Alvario and Cristina, all the furniture (antique and mid-century) and art is for sale; they also have poetry readings and live DJ sets.
