Leyton

'Leyton' is the fourth work of art by the malagueño artist Curro Layton to join Estepona's collection of murals. It is the first abstract work to be part of the renowned mural route of the town (La ruta de murales artísticos de Estepona). The piece measures 60 m2 and can be found on one of the exterior walls of the Polideportivo Municipal Cibier la Lobilla. It was inaugurated on the 19th December 2018.

The mural bears the title of the artist's last name and according to Leyton it is his most personal creation yet as it captures his essence as an abstract painter, using lines and shades in the artwork which came about by coincidence and then, in other parts of the piece, more intentional styles. The purpose of the piece is to spark the imagination of locals and people who stop to ponder it, so that each may have their own interpretation of the artwork depending on how they view it.
