direct share holdings, as this provides an extra layer of management
expertise. If you are thinking of investing in this manner, you
will find that banks, investment brokers and stockbrokers offer
the service of providing a portfolio service, which can be run on
an advisory basis (the client makes final decisions) or a management
basis (the institution makes decisions).
Should you choose to invest in one of these portfolios expect it to be structured around the your personal risk tolerance, time horizon and need for income or capital growth. The assets will then be allocated into different sectors, to obtain the best all round growth and defence against a market slow down.
Keep in mind though, that a cash reserve of 10
percent should always be provided for contingency reasons.
