Re: Sold the house in Andalucia. Here's how it went.

DA, the form for the reclaim of the retention is the same as the one for the non-resident income tax. It is fairly straightforward to work out the tax due unless there has been an escritura of new building since you originally bought when it becomes a little more complicated. A married couple can su...

Re: Sold the house in Andalucia. Here's how it went.

It is the purchaser OR his representative that retains the funds to pay the retention. It is written into the escritura so if you cannot get the necessary copy of the form 211 to enable you to reclaim the retention you have to go back to the notary to report the fact. The receipt for payment of the ...

Re: Sold the house in Andalucia. Here's how it went.

I am glad everything has gone well for you. Further to Free at Last's post, sixteen months is a grossly excessive time to have to wait for the refund of the retention but there is now a facility on the form to elect to have it paid back into a foreign bank account although the exchange rate may be l...

Re: Digital signature/electronic certificate-

Yes, you just use your surname. If an application code has been issued then you did it correctly. I am not sure if there is a time limit between applying for the code and the confirmation of your identity. There is no mention of this in the instructions but there is a remote chance that it may be an...

Re: Nolotil

I was told to take Nolotil after some painful dental work about ten years ago before it was known how dangerous it is for Northern Europeans. It made me very ill for over a year before I recovered completely. I have never taken any kind of pain-killer since. Avoid it like the plague. People have die...

Re: Financial Advisors...Again.

I believe that if someone is trying to tell you what to do with your money whether it a financial advisor, bank, lawyer, accountant or insurance company, etc it is going to be primarily to their own advantage rather than yours.

Re: Double pole circuit breakers v single pole

There are now available double pole MCBs that only take up a single space. Replacing double pole with single pole is a retrograde step and may invalidate any boletin that has been issued in respect of the installation.

Re: Financial Advisors...Again.

I set up my own pension fund many years ago and do not have a financial advisor. The pension company is OK with this but every year when I get my annual status report it is accompanied by a message to the effect that I can find a financial advisor on http://www.blahblah and every year I have to resi...

Re: water system damage to palm trees?

Yes, I agree. I have a serrucha on a long extendable pole and some portable scaffolding but, even so, the tallest ones are now way out of my reach which is why we need the cherry-picker. Unfortunately it cannot get near enough to the ones on the lawns which are too far from the driveway so a man com...

Re: water system damage to palm trees?

The Washingtonias on our lawns have been regularly soaked in this way for the past twenty five years. They are all thriving and even the smallest is over twelve metres tall. We have to hire regularly a large cherry-picker in order to remove the dead fronds and abundant seed pods.

However it is done the vet will still need some kind of evidence that the request for change of owner is legitimate especially if the animal is potentially valuable.

Re: changing details in dog microchip

I think that both the previous owner and the new owner have to sign a declaration before a vet. As the dog was obtained from a shelter they would, at least, have to provide a certificate or some kind of documentation so that the vet who changes the microchip can be satisfied that it has not been sto...

Well, no wonder I had never heard of 'SITAR'! This is not some kind of new official procedure introduced by the Junta de Andalucía in respect of inheritances and donations which I thought I had missed it seems to be just a money making scheme dreamt up by a bunch of lawyers who will offer to draw up...
