Re: Drinking water at airports

It's good that there are now drinking fountains at some airports again. At Malaga they are not at every toilet but (for example) the facilities at the far end of the 'old' Terminal B pier have one. (I still can't get used to calling what I always called the 'new' terminal the 'old' one). At Gatwick ...

Re: Skype New Version 8.3

I really dislike Skype v8 too, not least because you can no longer keep separate chat windows open with that version. I had an online chat session with Microsoft support recently to feed back my views and they opened a support ticket to pass them on to the development team, not that I expect much to...

Re: Residence Registration No Healthcare

As Sid implies, it seems that the implications of the new healthcare coverage arrangements are still filtering through to other areas including 'residencia' requirements. CAB Spain have been collating information on this: https://www.citizensadvice.org.es/faq/new-universal-healthcare-law-july-27-201...

Re: Residencia in Malag

Well yes, that was what I had to do four years ago as a non-pensioner. But the 'rules' may well have changed since then, hence the suggestion to ask at the relevant police station in advance if possible.

Re: Residencia in Malag

Gerry makes a valid point here... Isn't there a National Police station nearer to you than Malaga? The only way of finding out what their current requirements are, they can vary day to day, is to go and ask them. Last year I helped a friend get his 'residencia' and when we went to the main Policia i...

Re: Passporting - what does it all mean re annuities

I'm still in the dark about the verb "passport". I thought it was a noun. What is "to passport"? An American acquaintance of mine once said, "Hey, any noun can be verbed!" Here's hoping this all gets straightened out before March; although Sid's conclusion does s...

Re: "go to" cafe/restaurant near Malaga airport

Glad to hear you enjoyed your visits to the Chicken Shack. I've also been caught out by it being closed a couple of times in the past, so I try to remember to phone now before going. I know what you mean about being charged for olives; sadly the same thing happens in many other places these days, wi...

Re: Renta 2017

OK Sid, understood; thanks for clarifying. I'm actually due a rebate in any case, but I'm obviously keen to get this buttoned up ASAP.

Has anyone here entered tax paid in the UK in order to offset it against Spanish tax at some point? I'd be grateful for any thoughts on this.

In researching this further I came across this blog post from 2013, which seems to concur with the general view here on pensions and the Modelo 720, with some additional details that might be of interest to some. http://jullastres.es/wordpress/?p=764 I'm still leaning towards not declaring the 'annu...

There's already another thread on this company: http://www.andalucia.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=21&t=38301 I did a search on Skyscanner today for some flights to/from London and they did look quite competitive but I ended up going with other airlines as they had reasonably priced flights to Gatw...

I hesitate somewhat to raise the dreaded subject of pensions and the Modelo 720 and I expect Sid will be less than ecstatic to see it mentioned again, but... I'm in the process of reviewing my pensions generally and wanted to check up on the consensus here (if such a thing exists on this point) rega...

Not far from Hotel Las Vegas is a small hotel called Casa Azul, in Avda. de Príes. This might be a good fit for your needs and it seems to have good reviews. It certainly looks nice from the outside.
