Re: 2018 IBI Estepona Bills

Ours were always the same but Estepona has specifically extended the payment time. They have extended it until end October.

Re: 2018 IBI Estepona Bills

I called the council and they say that this year the bills don't have to be paid until end October. They have way extended from their normal time. But they also said I have to go in and get the bill myself, it won't come in the post.

Re: Cleaning products

I have found (and so have Spanish surveys) that Lidl 3 in 1 tablets (not gel) are 2nd best for dishwasher, as well as being cheap, at 3.99 euro for 40.
No 1 is one of the really expensive ones.

Re: UK State pension calculation

That is why I advised you call, and they are very helpful. The calculators do not give the full picture sometimes. Do make a note of the time, date and name of the person in case of comeback. At least that is what we were advised by them to do.

Re: UK State pension calculation

All I can say is that the information from the place in Newcastle (?)in person was different from the calculator and all info that had been received in the post. Especially only needing 30 years and not 35 to get a full pension. The guy admitted that mistakes had been made mainly because the goalpos...

Re: UK State pension calculation

I suggest you call the pensions people and they will make an appointment to call back and discuss. I have come across this situation recently and 35 years were not required (only 30) for a pension of around 175 pounds a week. They are working out some pensions in the new way for that cohort and some...

Re: buying a new car now requires registerinng on padron?

In Estepona they do occasional drives to register people because the numbers on the Padron dictate number of fire stations and medical clinics and the like. They often set up a table in areas frequented by foreigners like Sunday Markets to persuade people to register. I know that many foreigners do ...

Re: Padron renewed every 5 years

I had a letter from Estepona a while back, I think it was before the referendum, asking if I was still resident, and I had been here for over 12 years at that stage. I went in myself and assured them I was. As a matter of course I pop in ever so often to get a new empadronamiento so as to have an up...

Re: Temporary healthcare in UK

I was told that I can't use my card but I can get a piece of paper that covers me for when I am in UK. There is a maximum cover per year, some weeks, I think, so one has to work with the days one is away. I don't qualify for the TSI. I am neither a worker nor a pensioner but I'm defo covered by Spai...

Temporary healthcare in UK

I have a card for health here in Spain but is is only because of fiscal residency. i know I cannot use it in other EC countries.

Apparently I need a piece of paper from Social Security here for the days I am in UK.

Does anyone know what I need to take with me to get that from them?

Cheers folks!

Re: EU Driving Licence

Yup, delighted to see the back of Rajoy. I already have a Spanish/EU licence. I just wondered that when I am no longer an EU citizen what changes. I had an old UK passport years ago and am convinced it was black, but everyone says they were blue, hey ho. A Union Jack? If NI and Scotland go that will...

EU Driving Licence

Does anyone know what, if anything, we as UK citizens and soon not to be EU ones, have to do about Spanish/EU driving licences?

Do we have to have UK ones, international ones (if they exist)?
