Re: ugly looking log burner

We used: TITAN Anticalórifica - Pintura Negra Satinado It worked very well, except for a bit of a smell for a few weeks, burt not enough to put you off your dinner. I cannot remember where we bought it, but Titan is very common. It stayed on for a whole heating season, but we then replaced the woodb...

Endesa Online

For a variety of reasons to do with Correos, we have not had an electricitry bill since April 2010. Not a major problem as the money is still taken from the bank every 2 months and seems to be about right. However now that the Town Hall have given our little street a proper name there is a good chan...

Re: Heating your house !!

Of course the other alternative for cheap wood is to buy yourself a chain saw and scour the neighbourhood for fallen trees. My neighbour has lived in La Cala for 15 years and never paid for wood. After 6 years I too am now self sufficient in wood.

There is also one at the entrance to La Cala de mijas market

Only on a Saturday morning; also one near Dunnes Store, off the N340 on a Saturday. The Repsol depot is also not far from there and you can pick one up there.

I believe it is an appoinment system everywhere; it certainly is in Fuengirola. It seems as if they have recently changed the form you have to complete, so if you have an old one, make sure you download the latest form.

They are excellent; we bought a new woodburner from them last year. They did a superb job of fitting it.

Re: Residencia Renewal

To finish off the story. We went to Fuengirola Police Station on Monday to make on appointment. Apparently they have 35 prior appointments per day, after that you can be seen straight away. As we had all the paperwork, we went and paid the fee, returned, joined a small queue, were seen in 10 minutes...

Re: Transfering money between UK and Spanish banks

Everyone will have their favourite currency firm. I have used HIFX for some 6 years and find them to be excellent. There are no charges from them; the rate they quote you in euros is what arrives in your spanish bank.It is less than the inter bank rate, but higher than the usual tourist rate. Check ...

Can someone please point me in the direction of some guidance on this, as I have just noticed my card expires in a week. Tried searching, but it did not come up with much.

Thanks.

Sid

Is that 10 litres per car, or per person?

I think the saving on deisel is about 15 cents a litre; not to be sniffed at.

Obviously I mean in a container rather than the tank?

Textured Paint?

I have a textured wall (a sort of artex, rustic, stucco effect) and I am in the process of redecorating. An area of one wall had loose paint which has had to be peeled/scraped away. I do not want to remove all the paint and therefore want to put a texture on the now flat bit before painting over it....

Related HDMI Question

All connected and works fine. At the moment I have the Humax box connected, by Scart, to the DVD recorder for the few occasions I want to record something, first via Freesat, then transfer it to the DVD player/recorder and then put it on DVD. Will I still need to leave that to record from Freesat to...

HDMI Connection

Well, my HDMI splitter has arrived and I am about to connect it. It will only be used for the Freesat box and and an LD DVD player/recorder.

Question: do I need to keep the Scart connection between the DVD and the TV (as well as HDMI) in order to play non HD DVDs?
