Re: Residencia

Had a quick look at the CAB information/advice and it appears that you use the same form (EX-18) as when you applied for Residencia.
All good stuff though.

Re: Residencia

I see what you mean Cid.
He seems more worried about getting back his right to health care in the UK.

Residencia

A friend of mine asked me yesterday how do you cancel your Residencia and go back to being a 'holiday' visitor again. He is off back to the UK to work fulltime again. Does he have to visit the place that issued his Residencia or can you do it online? He wants keep his apartment here and still visit ...

Re: Gibraltar

That Is a boat and a half. Moody produced some very fine yachts didn't they.
An old friend of mine at the club has sailed many boats over his many years and always said the best was the Moody he owned until he had to retire from sailing.

Very jealous.

Re: Builder/decorator payment profile

Agree with Wollie that trust is vitally important and it is a two way thing. If someone insists on 50% up front, I would walk away from it. 25% up front is more normal, with agreed stage payments as the job progresses. It is perfectly normal for a retainer to be agreed of say 10% until a mutually ag...

Re: Gibraltar

The situation with Gibraltar is far more important than Morrison's or Fish & Chips. It HAD military significance during WW2, but that ended more than 70yrs ago! However, most Brits prefer to look backwards rather than to the future. We are in the middle of negotiating with various parts of Europ...

Re: Gibraltar

Is Gibraltar worth a visit? Nope. Have been there a few times over the years, but it never impresseed me at all. Unattractive, untidy and anachronistic. So it has a Morrisons, so what. Seems to have a lot of ex-pats living there who want to live in a Britain that doesn't actually exist anymore and h...

Manchesteral

I agree with you.

I read ''Driving over lemons' and thought it very overated.

I also read Gerald Brenan's South of Granada' and thought it was excellent. I would recommend that to anyone.

Re: Newspapers -Granada

Afternoon all. Came up trumps in Granada. First day there found a single copy of the Telegraph in about the sixth kiosk that we tried, but as it was late afternoon, didn't expect too much. Also tried the magazine/papers section in El Corte Inglés on C' Acera del Darro, but all they had left was one ...

Re: Solar panels and feedback to the grid, or not?

All that sounds very sensible Flexo. I've got a pretty good idea what we may need and when. Also have a reasonable idea when we would have to resort to using Endesa for the heavier out of season times. I'll put all of that together and re-post. I had a quick look at some of the power ratings/outputs...

Re: Solar panels and feedback to the grid, or not?

I have only just started reading up about this.

So if you want to avoid being involved with the grid at all (except for normal domestic connections) and intend to generate less than say 6Kw, what might be a cheap(ish) way to store the excess power generated from your solar set up?

Re: Newspapers -Granada

Pamela1 At last we have found someone who understands the difference between reading a real book or newspaper compared with an online version. A major point of the whole process is to have the thing physically in front of you. Yes I know we could sit there open-mouthed gawping at a Kindle, iPhone or...

That's the last place we got one from in Granada.
They only sell them on the other side of security, in the departures bit.

Yep. Looks like The Times is hanging in there.
Interesting site though and they seem to cover most of the world.

Our problem is that we like to take a real paper with us to a bar and have a beer or two while we attempt one of the crosswords. Well, you can't win them all.

Re: Solar panels and feedback to the grid, or not?

Domestic Solar Power

Excuse my ignorance, but has the law changed recently regarding generation of solar power?
Am I right in assuming that if you generate less than 10KW and don't wish to feed onto the grid, then there is no tax applicable?
