Re: lapsed movistar sim card

Movistar might re activate the card for you. Lebara re activated my UK sim card when I forgot to use it. All the PAYG credit will probably be lost. Must use my Lebara card tomorrow or else it will be de activated.
Otherwise a new sim card.

Re: Ayo's Paella, Nerja

Is Ayo one of the guys who discovered the caves? No he wasn't. It is a well known myth. Their is a plaque bearing the names of the discoverers:- Francisco Navas Montesinos, José Torres Cárdenas, Miguel Muñoz Zorrilla, José Luis Barbero de Miguel and Manuel Muñoz Zorrilla. Ayo's real name is Francis...

I would swear that at one point during the test a photo of your car

Just the failed item is checked.
Yes, a photo is taken and appears on the ITV test report or it does on the ones from the Algarrobo test centre.

Re: Gibraltar

In my humble opinion Gibraltar is worth a visit to see the view from the top of the rock, the monkeys, the caves and the historical aspects of Gibraltar. Not worth the visit for:- Shopping as we found the selection of clothes inferior to what we could get locally. Eating out as found the meals disap...

Re: ?how long before letting a kitten outside?

I should have said that if you feed the kitten, play with it, cuddle it so it knows it lives with you, then it is not likely to wander far from home and will always come back home if there is any sign of danger.

Re: ?how long before letting a kitten outside?

We have fostered and raised several kittens. We live in the campo. First we let it have the run of the terrace but block up any holes so it can't get outside. We have always taken the attitude of when the kitten can jump up onto a table and/or climb a tree then they can be let out into the campo. Fi...

Re: Still a chance for UK residents

half the country voted not to leave the EU. 51.9 to 48.1 . . Being pedantic only 72.2% of the country voted so that equates to only 37.5% of the country voting to leave. So, roughly speaking, one third said leave, one third said stay and one third didn't care. Still more voted to leave than to stay...

No problems here using SmartyDNS. To set up the DNS service on your router you must follow, exactly, the instructions for your particular router on the Smarty website. Plenty of guidance/ tutorials on there. If you contact them, they are very helpful, and say you haven't set up the DNS service prope...

Re: Re ITV

Took my car to the Algarrobo ITV testing station today. Handed over my documents, except for the insurance documentation. He typed in all the details etc and handed me the documents and paperwork. I asked him if he wanted the insurance documentation. No need, he said, it's all on his computer. Don't...

Re: Early Spring Temperatures

So looking forward to travelling to Seville next week! :) I'm currently in Seville. Dry and mostly sunny. OK if you are in the sun but there are a lot of high buildings and narrow streets so you might not see the sun. Also quite a cold breeze so need to wrap up, fleeces or anarocks, most of the day...

Re: Postal method for passport

When I received my first new passport the English speaking courier insisted that he would deliver to my house in the campo. I directed him via our mobile phones to my house. Normally I meet couriers at the local fuel station. When my second, 10 years later, passport arrived I had it delivered to a l...

Re: advise

A MRI, Magnetic Resonance Imaging, scan shows up any problems in the bones and the soft tissue, muscles etc. An X Ray isn't so good at showing soft tissue damage. I have had X rays, as they are relatively cheap, that haven't shown a problem then I have had a follow up MRI scan on the affected area w...

They want to check that the house wiring, switches, sockets, fuse board etc meet the current standards. Unless it is a fairly new house then it possibly might not meet the current standards. It could be costly, for you, to get the wiring etc changed to meet the standards. Who is "the electrical...
