Re: Ring Beam

Hi Terry
Misread your post. I thought you asked Why and not What.
Sorry
Looking at my "Finca, renovating an old farmhouse in Spain" a ring beam is a zuncho.

Re: Ring Beam

Possibly because it's made of concrete, it is a beam and it forms a ring around the house?

Re: Residencia in Malag

As I have already stated the requirements seem to vary from office to office if not day to day or person to person.
So the only definitive requirements you can get are by asking at the office where you intend, hope, to register.

Re: Residencia in Malag

Isn't there a National Police station nearer to you than Malaga?
The only way of finding out what their current requirements are, they can vary day to day, is to go and ask them.

Yes clicking the +info to the right of any box shows you format of the required field and, often, where to find the necessary information.

Re: New Indian Torrox Costa

I thought the one under SuperSol at the puente was the second one, so was the one where MUM now is their 3rd? 3 does seem a bit too many in one town. Correct, I forgot about the one under Supersol which is there 2nd one. Yes 3 in one town, with 1 and 3 very close together were probably a bit much. ...

Re: New Indian Torrox Costa

Being pedantic it is where the second "Little Italy"was. The first "Little Italy" is still in it's original location. The second "Little Italy" didn't last long.
Agree with you about MUM as I have posted in another thread.

Re: Shower.

Another thing for allgram to consider is water pressure. If the pressure fluctuates, due to another tap being turned on/ off you can get very dramatic, and painful, variations in water temperature from an electric shower. I have a pumped supply which stays constant irrespective of whether or not ano...

Re: Shower.

Not found it a problem. I know I have a 40 Amp ICP in the fusebox and now in the smart meter but they haven't tripped yet. I strongly suspect that you can overload them before they trip. One day I intend putting a clamp ammeter on the incoming supply and switching variuos loads on to see at what poi...

Re: Shower.

You will need a minimum of a 6KW electric shower if you want a hot shower in the winter. Not a problem at this time of year as the incoming water is often warm enough for a shower. So, what is your rated potencia, is it high enough to run the shower? I have an 8.5KW electric shower on a 8.8KW potenc...

Contact Movistar and tell them you are considering moving to one of the better deals you have been offered and ask if they will match, or better, the deal if you stay with them.

Re: living in a motorhome + insurance

Teresa can I make a suggestion? Why don't you drive over and stay for 3 months and see if you like living here in a motorhome? Your present insurer and your health insurer should both cover you for a 3 month period here in Spain. Also it is worth spending 3 months in the winter here, it can be very ...

Re: Loan of a car seat for a week from 4Sep18?

I've got one that the OP could have borrowed but it would have cost them more in fuel to collect and return it than it would have been to buy a new one.
Asking the neighbours is often the easiest and cheapest.

Re: "You have no Data Connection" android mobile

Just read that a SIM-free Samsung bought from them is only for use in the UK! Maybe it will be easier to just get one from a Movistar shop here and let them sort it all out.....I am definitely getting too old for all this! Who told you it was only for use in the UK' Sounds like utter nonsense to me...

My motorhome might have been UK plated but it was a LHD one so the habitation door was on the correct side for Spain.
