Re: 2/7/2018 Holiday

Just had a look at http://www.velezmalaga.es/index.php?mod ... -y-fiestas but it only goes up to this week.
Have a look sometime before 2nd July.
El Ingenio, according to their website, are open that day.
Can't think of a Velez Malaga fiesta on that day.

A quick look at their website, http://overseas.es/holidays, suggests they are open on Monday 25th June.

Noche de San Juan

Saturday is the Noche de San Juan. Since we have lived here we have gone to the beach in Rincon de la Victoria. In the earlier years there where family groups having barbecues on the beach, bonfires at midnight and most people swimming in the sea, or paddling, at midnight. It was a great atmosphere....

Re: ITV Sticker

Like the insistence of an insurance certificate when presenting for an ITV. Algorobbo yesterday didn't even give it a glance. I took my wife's car for it's ITV to Algorobbo on Thursday. Did you notice that the notice, in reception, which used to say you have to show your insurance docs has been cha...

Re: Public doctor near Calahonda

Why don't you go back to the health centre who said they wanted the report translated into Spanish and ask them for the name/ phone number of a translator.
They might accept a non official, and probably cheaper, one.

I was in the same situation as you.
I had to attend the court in Malaga.
The court provided an interpreter for me.

Re: buying a new car now requires registerinng on padron?

You have always, well certainly in the 14 years I have lived here, needed to be registered on the padron to buy a car.
The car details are sent to the town hall that issued the padron so that they can charge the car owner with the appropriate annual car tax.

Re: Public doctor near Calahonda

You can get your Swedish doctor's report translated into Spanish by an official translator here in Spain. The Spanish medical system will accept the report if it has been translated by an official translator. If you see a private doctor then he will also, probably, require to see a Spanish version o...

Re: New Chiringuito

Went there yesterday for lunch. Still no name on the building or menu on display. When we sat down and said we wanted food, most other people there just seemed to be drinking, they brought us a menu. Not a very extensive menu. Surrounding/ furnishings are quite nice. If you are there before 2:00 PM ...

Re: Public doctor near Calahonda

Sorry perhaps I am missing something. You said you were only here for 4 weeks so why didn't you bring sufficient medication with you? I can perfectly understand why a Spanish doctor didn't give you a prescription for medication as prescribed by your Swedish doctor. If it happened to be a drug not av...

Re: Breaking down on the motorway

Just found that there is a Linea Directa app, for Android probably an iPhone one as well. Once it is setup up, which you can do now at home, it just need a few taps of the screen to call a grua to your exact location. No voice input needed so ideal for when you are at the side of the autovia and can...

Re: Breaking down on the motorway

[ Lyric, I saw those markers but they just seem to be reflectors. They also have a number on them 1-9 which tells you the distance to the next Km marker. So if it says 6 then there is 600 mtrs to the next marker or 400 mtrs to the marker you last went past. So if the number is 4 or less then carry ...

Parilla's reply earlier says the system works.
Like you, don't know quite how it works.
Perhaps Parilla can tell us what he/she had to do to let Linea Directa have the location.

Don't smartphones, which most people have, have GPS built in?
No idea how Linea Directa achieve it but I have seen it claimed in their adverts that they can locate you wherever you are.

Don't know which insurance company you are with but Linea Directa claim that they can locate your exact position via GPS.
Haven't needed to try it out yet.

Update Went to have a look at the place. Not sure if I found it but there is a new place to the west of Bere Bere. No name on the place, it's a prefab wooden construction so just might only be there for the summer. It's got a large well stocked bar but no menus on display so no idea what type of foo...

Re: cl@ve pin

So the answer seems to be don't upgrade the app. Stick to vers 1.9.2
If I get some spare time today I will have another go at 1.9.3 to see if I can find a "número de soporte" that it accepts.
