Your post read like it was in the opposite direction. Suggestions like, eg, highchair or fizzy water were put forward as a fair number of English sp...

Re: Common tourist phrases in bars and cafes

Now I will open up the can of worms, Been following this topic for a few days now and I really feel the most of the comments are not relevant. I am not a full time resident (I live in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria) but during my 45 year love affair with Spain (Peninsula and outlying territories) my exp...

Re: Common tourist phrases in bars and cafes

Most of the English speakers in Calahonda tend to use phrases such as "av yer got sausage an chips mate" or "ave yer got Boddies bitter" if the normal tone of voice is not acceptable then they often believe that shouting the same phrase or speaking very slowly will somehow enhanc...

When searching for flights online use the incognito facility on your computer. Most airline /travel companies have programmes on thier operating systems which flag people who are searching for particular flights, when you start the booking process the price will then rise, this is not **** it actual...

Re: Quick question re licence exchange

Hi Cadore, I've been following this post for a while now and I'm confused (I often am) what age are you, I ask because on the one hand you say that your licence has expired and yet you still have 25 years left on certain categories, can you enlighten me ?

Don't forget that any electrical or plumbing work will need to be signed off by someone suitably qualified who will probably charge a substantial fee !

probably nobody will be interested in this information but I'll post it anyway. Having played proper rugby (union) for 33 years, my body has been subjected to violent abuse by many opponents (the French are the dirtiest players) I've suffered various problems with my mouth (teeth) also my unreliabl...

Re: Dental implants

I can only say that, the dentist who quoted me this price came highly recommended by a number of foreign residents including Swedes and Danes who are especially picky(sic) about their teeth, I was also accompanied by a Canarian friend who has used the same dentist for many years, he's 72 and has gre...

Re: Prawn sandwiches

I love prawn sandwiches on crusty rolls, I love them on brown seeded sliced bread, love them on pizzas, Infact anyway as long as I don't have to top and tail them. Some Spanish friends like to pick up the heads and suck out all the mush. We have a deal they don't do it in my presence :D You should ...

Prawn sandwiches

There's a Cuban owned bar on the corner of my street where a local fisherman sits from around 10.00 am drinking coffee, he has a barrow filled with whatever he's caught that day and sits there till he's sold it all, today I bought a kilo of prawns from him for 6 euros, now I'm eating half of them in...
