Re: Ryanair Flights & Entering Passport Information

Let me expand on my previous posts. For many years my wife was in control of all our travel arrangements including the booking of all European and inter-continental flights. However for the last five years or so I have done this myself. I travel often, back and forth to Gran Canaria, Mainland Spain,...

Re: Ryanair Flights & Entering Passport Information

Nope, never been asked for it, maybe I'm just lucky, or more likely, they "know who I am" :-)

Re: Prefab/modular/eco homes

Practically impossible I reckon Sid, I have a friend who's been trying for two years to rebuild a slightly modified traditional Finca, almost the same but with some slight modifications, he's been fighting them for two years now. even if one were lucky enough to get it passed there's always the dang...

Re: Car modification and legalities of it.

I'm going to attempt to expand this debate with a question that's bothered me for a long time: Following the many posts on this site regarding cars, itv's, modifications, import rules etc, I understand that there are a number of rules which must be adhered to with regard to importing and using diffe...

Re: Car modification and legalities of it.

I enquired last year, about bringing a Westfield 7 to Gran Canaria, a friend/aquaintence of mine who is a mechanic here told me not to bother as I would probably end up being sectioned :-)

Re: Battery powered scooters

As far as I'm aware they're classed as bycycles, they are a good number of them here in Las Palmas, you don't need a helmet, licence or insurance.

Re: Thinking of buying in Andalucia...

Ebyard, The only advice I can give you is the following, don't rush into buying anything until you're sure. Diligent Spanish lawyers are rare than hens teeth, so be sure you find a good one. One warning about wherever you decide to live, if indeed you're lucky to find your own bit of paradise, don't...

Re: Best Practices for Sending Mail Internationally

I would only use ' Certificado' ( signed for mail )if you need proof of sending and arrival , it is expensive and can be slower than regular mail, I only use it for documents etc. Regards, Gordon Well that's the whole point if it's important mail, I'd rather pay a few extra euros for secure postage...

Re: Buying a property as part of a syndicate

Hi Richard, I have a group of friends who have been operating this system for about 10 years now, six couples bought a large old townhouse in Almeria province, each couple owning two months per year on a rotating basis, ie Couple a in the first year had the right to use in for Jan/Feb, couple b Marc...

Re: Animal mistreatment

Mainland Spaniards are, on the whole notorious for their treatment of animals especially hunting dogs and greyhounds, but they're not alone, I was out on an old horse "Rufus" some years ago, just hacking around some local land (with permission) when we encountered some so called hunt sabs ...

Wherever there is ignorance there will be racism and it comes from all directions. The U K has an admirable record of ethnic tolerance, we have been inviting people from all corners of the globe for many hundreds of years. The system falls down due to a lack of immigration control and under educatio...

Re: Tent on rustic land

My original response to this post was perhaps a little gritty, however I'm still wondering why you would need one in your garden other than for acommodation purposes which I'm sure would attract the attention of the authoraties and perhaps a few nosey neighbours, you do need to be really careful the...
