Re: Cosumer protection/dispute reolution

On reading this again i am thinking that the principle fault here lies between the delivery company company and Tien. You bought goods from Tien but it was the delivery company who failed to deliver the said packaging that is part of the contract you entered with Tien. I think it may be worth while ...

Re: Neighbours taking me to court - Acto de conciliación

hangover yes i have considerable experience of how the system works and sometimes does not though i have not had a problem in Spain. Saying that i did end up paying IBI two times for 3 separate years, the error was made by my advisor and the Ayuntamiento were very understanding but the mistake was m...

Re: Neighbours taking me to court - Acto de conciliación

I know this is not what you want to hear but at the end of the day both of you will need to compromise. You will need to attend the proceedings and hope for a good outcome, make sure you are seen to being reasonable. It surprises me that your lawyer did not suggest some sort of mediation or it may b...

Re: Living Permanently in a Mobile Home ?

It was regular truck you mention, i am guessing it was about 20ft long with a rack in the back for scrambler etc, it basically looked like a refrigerated rigid truck well painted camouflage grey. It was very well done and would be expensive but if it being used as a holiday home likely a very econom...

Re: Living Permanently in a Mobile Home ?

This is slightly off-topic but it is what i have seen. One of the best ideas i seen in Spain was a rigid truck turned to a camper This was a very high end job and it had everything, one bedroom apartment with kitchen shower and all modern appliances. I do not know what the laws as regards to parking...

Re: Electricity, regulated or free market supply

I would suggest you compare potencia with your friend who are paying the same amount. All of this info on the back of bill. This is the amount of available KW/hour at any given time, the standing charge jumps about €10/12 for each additional KW/H The said "potencia" is a significant part o...

Re: fridge

The makers of the fridge (hotpoint) have said it does not matter where the live is situated. This house is pretty new and all wiring is in perfect as per standard. Its a while since i got the shock so i cannot remember if it tripped. It was only recently when i was changing a bulb i decided to check...

The socket is uk type, i was of the understanding that on any appliance that the live "only" must be switched and that the live power must the bulb from the back of the holder leaving the side threaded area for neutral return, I actually thought this would be very strictly regulated from a...

I notice on the fridge light the positive live is on the threaded side of the bulb. I got a shock when changing the bulb as i had not unplugged fridge. When i went to investigate i found the live on the threaded side and the neutral at the back where the live usually is and in my opinion should be. ...

A few of us were out one night (not in spain) and we were talking about Spain and when we started talking about "bodega" we noticed a few ladies listening and we kept it up.
After a while one said, what the duck are you talking about? when i explained she said, oh is that what it is !!!

Re: Pueblos Blancos Churches and Towers

I do not know if people are aware of this, its a relatively simple process to make white lime suitable for painting. All needs to be done is apply intense heat to lime rocks and it will turn to white lime powder. The process was much like making charcoal but with more intense heat applied. I assume ...

Useful! On a similar note, can anyone advise how I would describe a 'crunching' noise I get at low speeds sometimes? It's the sort that a mechanic will find impossible to replicate in their garage! To give an idea of the noise, I have suspected part of the wheel arch scraping the tyre...

Re: Community Advice

I personally would not touch this one, it seems to me there is collusion by the president and his friend in this one. I am expecting that the president and the community has broken the law by renting a property that does not belong to him. Who actually owns the property? I expect if the bank owned i...

Thanks Gasman, I assume people count trees differently as the guy i helped counted it as 5 trees but there were 3 separate trunks and he counted this as one tree. we had 300 kilos but it may be you count each one as tree. He also told me that 22/23% of olives is actual oil but i guessing it may not ...

We finished manually.
I am curious to know how many kilos of olives it took to make 18 litres, we picked 300+ kilo.
