My understanding of this is we pay a small percentage of the potential income if this property is not our permanent residence.

Re: Time frame for seeding grass

I think i would give it a go anyway provided the seed not too expensive. As far as i can figure planting season in Spain for grain is Sept/Oct. It seems to me that these seed germinate and start to grow. Then when the weather gets colder lie more or less dormant for couple of Months. Then when the w...

Re: Common tourist phrases in bars and cafes

I am sure this info be useless... A radio station was running a competition – words that weren’t in the dictionary yet could still be used in a sentence that would make logical sense. The prize was a trip to Bali. DJ: “96 FM here, what’s your name?” Caller: “Hi, my name’s Dave.” DJ: “Dave, what’s yo...

Re: Car Hire Urgently Needed In Velez Malaga area

i think your best option get bus/train to Malaga Airport and hire there where you will get a car this time of year for less than €50 pw without the optional extras for insurance. As far as i know the max rent is 30 days and then return car and start again, just go to the car booking site Malaga Airp...

Re: Mortgage Insurance - alternatives?

The only insurance that i think is mandatory is life cover with minimum amount the amount of money owing to the bank. I suspect they selling you more than you need and i never heard of 3 year cover. The fact that they are selling Monthly suggests to me that you can opt out anytime, they may `say you...

Re: Mortgage Insurance - alternatives?

Go with Caixa for a few Months and then change, its easier in my opinion to tick all of their boxes until you have the money. All you woll need do is cancel insurance d/d and present the new policy to the bank, if at this stage they ask just explain price difference. You are not obliged to take thei...

Yes. Agreed. However the name taken from the father is his father’s and the name taken from the mother is her father’s. Women may keep their own name but only pass on that of their father. We have friends called Juan Manuel, JuanMa, and Luis Miguel, LuisMi. Personally though not perfect i think tha...

Re: senora

Gasman, so to address Mr Sanchez's wife (mujer or woman) as Mrs Sanchez, doesn't work - she is still Maria Dolores Gomez Marquez for example - if you know her reasonably well, Dolores or Loli will do! You see then, that she is not MRS Gomez either - seriously difficult language at times! I notice th...

Thanks for reply. I am just comparing to us, we have Mr, Mrs, Miss and Ms. It seems the Spanish have not got to Ms yet. Saying that, what is the term used for say 50 year old single lady or a divorcee. It seems to me that senorita is a term for a young single lady. If say we do not knowstatus marrie...

My car is a VW but I won't buy another since they were caught out. I actually think they are all at it with the emissions cheating One of the biggest worldwide budgets is for enviornment in all countries to monitor all aspects of this.
