Re: senora

Gasman, so to address Mr Sanchez's wife (mujer or woman) as Mrs Sanchez, doesn't work - she is still Maria Dolores Gomez Marquez for example - if you know her reasonably well, Dolores or Loli will do! You see then, that she is not MRS Gomez either - seriously difficult language at times! I notice th...

Re: senora

Thanks for all replies but i still do not know what best term to use for single/separated/divorced 50+ lady. The reason i ask is a woman said i referred to her as Mrs when i said senora, i will stay using senora unless someone has better idea. I am working on the basis of general term to fit-all if ...

Re: senora

Thanks for reply. I am just comparing to us, we have Mr, Mrs, Miss and Ms. It seems the Spanish have not got to Ms yet. Saying that, what is the term used for say 50 year old single lady or a divorcee. It seems to me that senorita is a term for a young single lady. If say we do not knowstatus marrie...

Many thanks

Re: Leasing a car.

My car is a VW but I won't buy another since they were caught out. I actually think they are all at it with the emissions cheating One of the biggest worldwide budgets is for enviornment in all countries to monitor all aspects of this. I would ask what these agencies were doing when we were being d...

Re: Drinking water at airports

A few years ago i had a sore throat, i had being taking lemon/honey in Spain so i brought some lemon and sugar on the flight. I told the attendant and to my pleasant surprise she gave me hot water 2 times during the EasyJet flight. in relation to above i seen a big discussion between steward and pas...

Re: halloween

Sid, Thanks for advise but i was thinking more of then ghost/scary side and how people celebrate and different cultures. I know all about the holy-days as i come from that tradition and though i do not do much now i never changed. I only go to grave-yards for funerals that i need attend, they will b...

Re: Drinking water at airports

Personally i usually do not buy water at any of the airports as i will usually have water in bag and finish at security. Then i will usually have tea/coffee on flight with food and that's it. I want to ask something relating to this. If i drink say half litre of tap water all ok, however if i have m...

Re: Tourism

The tourist numbers have increased every year to Spain since about 2010 and more in the last few years with turmoil in Turkey and other places, i seen this morning on TV that tourists were returning to Tunisia. I am guessing they can make prediction by flight sales in advance for next summer as all ...

Re: Taxes for residents

Sid,
Can i ask what is meant by two tax jurisdictions?
I considered making a move to Spain last year but ruled it out as i thought i be screwed either way, if i sold be taxed on the money and if i kept i be taxed on the asset, i did not hear of the two tax thing...

I know a few people in a similar situation and the general consensus is if you have substantial income stay non-resident.
Because Spain enconomy much lower level than US the income/assets threshold lower and you will basically be screwed...

Re: HIRING A COACH

Patricia, I was thinking more that you keep the group intact, collect the money and just pass money on to travel agent who will give you the tickets and you just pass on to each individuals involved, it is likely the group fall apart as people will not bother going to the agent and you end up with h...

Re: HIRING A COACH

I would suggest if you worried about liability that you go to travel agent who do regular daily excursions and ask them to set-up the trip. I have only done one as really not my thing, i remember it was only something like €10 pp for day trip and you buy the tickets from travel agent so your out of ...

Re: Engine Warning Light - Automatic !TV fail???

This may be of use. The last car i had a 2007 Nissan which is still alive as i sold local. There was a light used come on, if i disconnected battery for say an hour it stayed on, however when left disconnected over night it stayed off for about 200 km. I have also heard of people adding a few litres...

Re: ayamonte/faro

Gasman thanks for the added info, nothing puts me off as i did a run with a hire car last month about 15km on a rural road last month. I should not have done but when i realized this i was at the point of no return, it was so bad the car flagged up "no entry" on the dash and i had to turn ...
