Re: Chiringuitos

There are some very good Chirringuitos about 10 km from Marbella, between Elviria and Cabopino. Some of our favourites: - El Laurel - Chirringuito Carlos y Paula - Restaurante 200 (probably not strictly a chirringuito, as it is a building, rather than a wooden structure, but very good food and frien...

Re: Endesa air conditioning

This is not helpful. We have had a place in Spain for six years and so far we have not had any problems with Endesa's service.

Re: Finding a gestor

The reason I asked on this forum is that I was hoping someone would recommend a gestor.
For someone who has chosen to live in Spain, it is disrespectful to generalise and make negative comments about Spanish people.

Endesa air conditioning

Has anyone used the air conditioning supplied by Endesa? They appear to have a good payment plan. What's their service like?

Re: Dental implants

Dental care is even more expensive in Ireland than in the UK, especially when you go for complicated procedures such as implants. Moreover, they are not covered by most health insurance policies here. I got a quote for an implant from a dentist in Spain last year, and it wasn't much cheaper than in ...

Repair electric persianas

When we bought our apartment in 2012, we replaced the manual persianas with electric ones. One of these is broken. We have been calling the company who installed them for the past three weeks, and we are fobbed off each time, saying they are very busy and have a big job on at the moment. Can anybody...

Re: Ryanair luggage change

My issue is that RA does not make it clear on their email notifications that they will put the bag in the hold for free. I got the impression that you HAD to purchase priority boarding if you had hand luggage: in other words, they try to trick you into spending more. I was caught out this time - sha...

Re: Charity organisation or similar to take furniture....

Here in Ireland we have charities that will take good furniture if you dont want it anymore. So my question is.... On the CDS is there a similar organisation that will take good unwanted furniture and give it to needy people ? @ Scotty, we are looking for someone to take the two rattan/wood sofas a...

Re: Ryanair luggage change

If you travel with Ryanair from now on, you cannot bring your hand luggage on board unless you pay for priority boarding. What they don’t make clear, is that they will put your hand luggage in the hold for free, but you can’t check it in: you have to bring it to the gate! Why do they make things so ...

Re: Removal of furniture from fourth floor apartment

Thanks for the quick replies everyone. @ Wicksey, to answer your question: the building was constructed in 1973, and the previous owners had been there since 1978. I'm assuming they used an elevator like the ones described in subsequent posts. There is no way of taking these sofas apart: they were m...

Removal of furniture from fourth floor apartment

Our apartment is on the fourth floor. When we bought it six years ago, the previous owners had left all the furniture. We are gradually replacing items. We have two sofas in the living room. They won't fit though the hall door. Does anyone have any suggestions as to how they can be safely taken out ...

Sofa-bed, Calahonda-Cala de Mijas area

We need a good-quality sofa-bed for our apartment in the Elviria area. As we were driving towards the airport, we noticed a couple of signs along roadisde near Calahonda and Cala de Mijas advertising sofa-beds. I googled them and can't find any details. If anyone on this forum is living in that area...

Re: Comments and queries re FAQ for Non-resident income tax

@Enrique, @Beachcomber, I clicked "Validate and Generate PDF". I don't think there was a "Sign and Send" option on the form. I saved the PDF locally. I guess the best thing to do now is to transfer the payment from our bank account to Agencia Tributaria, and then post the PDF wit...
