Looking for a ‘coping saw’ type tile saw for cutting unusual shapes around pipes etc but can’t see one in BigMat or Leroy Merlin.
Any suggestion....?

Re: Malaga car hire.

thanks for the report back ashtondav. interesting and reassuring stuff. I've been loyal to recordGo lately as I've had no major problems and their drop off is dead easy but their pick up is becoming a bit protracted

Re: Roofing Costs

I suspect mixing modern plasterboard faced insulated boards with old uneven wooden beams would be difficult and involve a lot of ugly packing pieces. You need to get some or a builder quotes and advice. You may find the builder would suggest all new materials. Next hurdle - finding a good builder. ...

Re: Roofing Costs

If you want a more traditional look then beams at 50 cm gap and insulated boards faced with plasterboard for underneath are available. Then on top the traditional finish. S/H Old roofing tiles used to be a euro each but may well have plummeted assuming you can find any. hi there, our beams are orig...

Re: Bottled gas - how does it work?

Hi edyard, Re-seat the Regulator on to the Gas Bottle................ :!: You should feel the Black ring on the Regulator move downwards when fitting the regulator to the Gas Bottle. This (I shall place a small bet). Many times, I would come over and think I've put it on right, but no. Tug it upwar...

Re: Light fittings

be aware that the wiring might be different to back home if you're planning on fitting yourself. if it's an old property there may be very little clue as to which wire is which. if in any doubt at all i'd get a local sparky to fit

Re: how to buy a used bike in Spain

they didn't say "cheap" they said second hand. that's quite a trip they've got planned and I personally wouldn't set out on anything less than a well maintained, entry level 'serious' road bike. (they start at about 300euros from Decathlon/Halfords) Obvs for the same money a better bike wi...

Re: how to buy a used bike in Spain

Thats quite a journey. I would buy something descent for a journey like that. It is easily doable but if you want to enjoy it dont buy a decathlon 69 euro bike. However a decathlon 400, 700 or 1000euro bikes are the best money can buy. in fact I guarantee the 69euro will be the best around for that...

Re: Tourism Registry for holiday lets

presumably you have air-con and heating installed in all living rooms and bedrooms in order to get your certificate from the tourist board? we have an old village house for which A/c units would be expensive and ugly. I'm not sure how to get round this conundrum. is there an official solution for ol...
