Re: Unknown Embargo on Bank Account

I managed to track down this page: https://sede.malaga.eu/micarpeta/Condeutripag.seam?id=102 Seems this relates to a fee for home improvements back in 2019. None of the reference numbers match, nor does the amount (they have added a fee), nor do i have any record, receipt or correspondence. The 'pai...

Unknown Embargo on Bank Account

I have an "embargo" on my account. The entry is for a sizable amount, much more than the IBI payments which are seperate and when i click it it just says #embargo. The 'organismo oficial' is "Ayuntamiento de Malaga" and there is a 'numero de diligencia', but I can't find any reco...

I have had no problems returning items providing I have full evidence of purchase.

Re: Correos - Not deliverying reliably

Brilliant, so the slip turned up today with a forged date and the wrong, non-existent tracking number on it. The alleged time is definitely wrong as I was in the flat.

My guess is someone got told off :)

All other mail seems to be flowing fine at the moment, but I have more deliveries pending.

Re: El Pimpi, Malaga

Very expensive but they've expanded, they now how the bar and the fish restaurants. This isn't 'small' anymore or for cheaper crowd like it was <2008. For visitors its great, but yes drinks and food you are paying for Antonio Banderas pictures and an institution. If you've never been and are in town...

Re: waste dumping

I hope you have the necessary licencia de obras, as you have made sure the Ayuntamiento are aware of your planned work? This is what you are supposed to do. When you obtain one in the office, they will ask you if you need to rent a skip and pay the couple of euros for storing it on the street (was ...

Re: Correos - Not deliverying reliably

So today I got two parcels to my door. A more seasoned gentleman delivered them that I suspect has had the centre of Malaga for a longer tour of duty. I asked about the other parcel and he said he didn't have the shift yesterday but he will talk to the other delivery man. He suspects he couldn't fin...

Correos - Not deliverying reliably

Hi, I've just had a bizarre situation where the mail man said he tried to deliver but I wasn't in. As far as I can see he has not even attempted to deliver and left no card. Last time he said he couldn't find my house but he rang and I told him. My suspicion is he's delivering to the wrong address, ...

Re: Squatters

Legally, you need the courts to order their eviction and you can not cut water supplies if they have a minor. I believe you can cut the bills, but the water company can not for example. The law goes against the owner, and yes it's ridiculous and exploited, but the laws are there to protect the innoc...

Re: Residential soundproofing for a flat

Wow, fast replies! I knew it was going to be loud in the centre and love the flat. I actually sleep with a fan going, and sleep like a log. My aircon is silent unfortunately, hence the fan. I am thinking in the future that I will potentially need to rent the place and am worried that for a light sle...

If its transferring between banks, without a shadow of a doubt the winner for me has been www.transferwise.com . I've been using it recently to take advantage of the GBP collapse.

Re: ideas for items ex-pats prefer to buy from the uk than spain

Beyond the foodstuffs, I've found Furniture options to be severely lacking over here. Sofas, etc. are cheaper and better quality. There also seems to be a distinct lack of a quality second hand market, and people seem to ask for full retail for ancient tat. I'll probably be going down the route of h...

Re: The Frustrations of Unicaja

Interesting thread, I paid last year's IBI which did not have my name on it at UniCaja (they are not even my bank!). I paid an IBI on behalf of the previous owner in the unicaja in Malaga centre and it was literally hand over the form, give him the cash, get the stamped receipts back and my change a...

Residential soundproofing for a flat

Hi, I have a flat in the centre of Malaga but I would like to upgrade the soundproofing and see if I can drown out the sound of the noisy locals that congregate on the streets for a chat in the early mornings. With an architect, I replaced my windows to some extremely high grade glass but I am not h...
