Re: Dog mess rules - Ronda area

Dogs shouldn't be allowed to urinate on pavements unless owners swill the stuff down. Why the hell dogs are allowed to urinate on pavements and humans aren't is mystifying - same rancid smell IMHO, and health risk. Hose the stuff down. Here in Frigi it's eyes down, eyes up when walking because 50% o...

Re: Bringing a UK car to Andalucia

We brought our car over when we moved here and transferred it to Spanish plates. Used a Gestor to handle the process and it was an absolute breeze. You also need to consider the cost of second hand cars here in Spain which typically is getting on for double the price of an equivalent UK car, and mo...

Re: Paying a lawyer upfront

Assuming "The" was meant to be "Then", I thought that was only if you were spanish tax resident. A UK tax resident would be liable to IHT - at least I think so. And you have to pay before you can sell the house.

AGM agenda and minutes

We are a small expat society about to hold an AGM. I would like to know if there is an "official" format for an AGM and also a format for minutes. They will be in English and then translated into Spanish. I have been told it is important to get it right as without well documented AGM and b...

Re: Bilbao ferry/overnight stay. Any tips please?

Thanks again Mark and 1bassleft, great info. once more. I now understand what you mean Mark after looking at exactly where the port is and the lay out of the town. Problem is though once more is that a lot of the hotels we liked the look of are booked solid for the nights we need, we've earmarked a...

Don’t go to Madrid - or mid/north France. Oven temperatures of 45C forecast! Down here on the coast nothing unusual - maybe 36C?

Currencyfair. Pay the money direct to the vender or supplier’s spanish account, not via your Spanish account.

Rates far better than bank.

Re: Comments and queries re FAQ for Non-resident income tax

I have just completed form 210 and have generated a valid pdf. However something has changed in the page size since last year. When i try to print it leaves off part of the final box where you sign. Is there anyway i can "shrink" the pdf to print out the whole page. It appears that for som...

Copy of our latest AGM signed on every page by all members of the board with a specific section on who is authorised ...

Re: Padron definitive answer

Thought it was pretty simple. You only sign on if you live here full time.ie your habitual residence. Although alot of towns want anyone to sign on as they get more money.guy in our townhall said its causing a problem with the amount of houses been bought up by holiday let owners (ontop of there be...

Padron definitive answer

Right, when should you/must you sign on the padron. Everyone gives me different answers. We spend 5 months in Spain, never more than 3 months at one time and own a property. Should we be on the padron. Please link or reference spanish law. Why are there so many different answers to a very simple que...

Yes I read that, Olive. I can only say that when I used them in March they were charming, no problems and the car cost €1.80 for the week.

Maybe the new guy has been giving customer service lessons - at least in Malaga airport!

Re: Malaga car hire.

Hmmmm, I would imagine the queue for goldcar/interrent would get quite long in busy times. Our pick up was a quiet afternoon on March 20th and we took a numbered ticket and waited our turn, about 20 minutes for us, but as i say it was a very quiet day.

Very interested by this discussion. Are there any tours of VM? Preferably in Spanish and English as we have guests coming over soon and they would like this town.
