Re: Malaga car hire.

Just a quick review of interrent car hire in Gatwick. I think they are the budget arm of europcar. Anyway I was really apprehensive as I had read a number of scathing reviews. However I have to say the 5 day hire at 66£ was very good. No argument when I declined their insurance. They simply blocked ...

Casting bbc and itv

I have installed a vpn on my iPad, and can watch iplayer and itvplayer on the iPad perfectly. However when I use chromecast to the tv I can cast itv, but not iplayer - it just freezes on the shot displayed in the programme information screen. I’m guessing iplayer knows the original signal is from th...

If you’ve used them more than three times you get their gold club service which puts you at the front. You have to book direct and not a broker. Worth it though.

Or caught by the Modelo 179 that came in today......the net is closing, bit by bit. “THE SPANISH tax office has tightened its grip on unregistered holiday accommodation rentals. All holiday letting websites -must fill in the new ‘Modelo 179’ information form. The order regulating the new form is fo...

Re: Septic Tank Pumping Out

When we raised the issue of a DaFO we were told we now need an additional tank for the grey water. Wouldn’t bother but we need a lot of work on the entrance drive and without a DaFO - no permit. Anyway we installed the second tank but god knows what people with smaller gardens will do. We are thinki...

Re: Holiday rentals. The law.

Just in case anyone here has registered their rental property and is compliant with the law I have another question. How is the renter’s data (passport number etc) presented to the police? Do I need to have someone on site to obtain signatures and take a paper form to the police or can I submit the ...

Holiday rentals. The law.

Thinking of buying an apartment for holiday rentals. I notice that one of the conditions relates to disabled access. In the case of apartments in our village nearly all are accessed by external steps, and then internal stairs. Would this automatically disqualify them? Ie does there have to be street...

Re: buying

The market definitely seems to be firming up around here, based on selling times but not so sure about valuations. As an example one estate agent valued a friends 2 bed apartment at 160k. Another, more local agent, said to put it on at 145k. Look around, ask and make plenty of visits to similar prop...

Re: Ryanair Flights & Entering Passport Information

Yes, with Ryanair you enter api when you check in on line. You can do this whether you have hold bags or not.

I have read that Ryanair are reducing the days before flight that you can check in - unless of course you buy priority boarding.

I agree. I would class them as shares - as they are in the uk. I’d still ask first. Blevins Franks?

Re: Solar heat swimming pool

I am basically copying a neighbour who is achieving a 3C to 6C increase in pool heat with 150m of 13m tube. Not interested in connecting to the electric pump as I want solar. He does not have a solar pool cover like we do so it will be an interesting experiment.

On a related matter are there regs on having a garden shed?

And where I live the default advice from a petrified town hall is “no”, so am interested in posters’ experience.

Re: Solar heat swimming pool

Quick update. I have had problems sourcing a sufficiently powerful solar pump but this one will operate up to 1350l/h so with nine hours sun I will recirculate about 20% of the pool which should lift the temperature 2C to 3C, hopefully. I will use about 50m of 13mm black irrigation hose coiled on bl...

Re: Comments and queries re FAQ for Non-resident income tax

You submit form 210 with rental income and expenses each quarter. You pay tax on the net income each quarter, when you submit it. If the property is in two names you submit a 210 form for each person.

Solar heat swimming pool

Hi

I have had a look at utube and am inclined to build a simple solar heater for the pool. Probably a submersible solar water pump and 200 metres of black irrigation tubing. Does anyone have any tips, experience or best in class tutorial. Please bear in mind I am a technical numpty!
