Frigiliana art.

Ruta de arte. Running from 5th to 7th October.

I think about 50 artists exhibiting, so worthwhile visiting.

Re: Primera Air

Presumably you’re covered for what you paid if you paid by credit card. But blimey, what a nightmare if you flew out yesterday morning and now have to buy flights from other airlines which will no doubt be increasing their prices substantially for flights in the next two weeks.

Re: 2018 road trip to the Casa. More ideas like last year please.

Although a longer distance we had a spectacular tour through extramadura this year. Salamanca, caceres, Trujillo, zafra, Merida all places worthy of a visit. We also stopped in Burgos this year at the NH Palacio. What a lovely town with FANTASTIC tapas bars where you can graze contentedly all night ...

They make a good hedge. I wouldn’t have one if I had pets but they sure keep the local goats out!

Re: Santander Ferry Terminal

From memory you can walk in to the port. I think your son could meet you after you pass through customs/police and before you get to the exit. I’m assuming son will be on foot. Best if he phones the port - they all speak English.

Re: Malaga car hire.

They don't "charge" your card for £1,000 for the excess. They "block" that amount so it can be charged if necessary, and there is no risk of you exceeding your credit limit. For example if your credit limit was £1,500 and they block £1,000 you would only be able to spend £500 dur...

Yep now just ryanair and Jet2 on the BHX AGP route. Still got Jet2 on the East Midlands route, of course. I think the Primera issue may just be this year as it seems to be a plane capacity issue. However trying to compete with Uncle Mick, AND turn a profit must be difficult, except when theyre on st...

Re: Dog poo

It would be lovely if the Spanish were capable of training dogs not to bark. But that is why they have them! Our neighbours leave their dog to roam free, pooing and barking wherever it likes, between when they leave on a Monday and return on Saturday . The fence between our properties is full of gap...

That's true Gordon. I don't take sides because I have Spanish friends across the political spectrum and want to keep them all as friends. The only trouble with all this talk of moving dead people all over the place is the danger of reviving emotions and feelings many people have worked hard at deal...

Re: Solar heat swimming pool

We have a bubble cover. I reckon it raises the temperature 3C or 4C. Our pool (without cover) is usually 20C in April, 25C in May, 28C in June, July and August. Below 25C I remain on the loungers wondering how the heck I used to swim in the North Sea as a child! Hardy, or stupid? Using the solar pum...

Exhuming Franco

I heard from someone today that there are definite pans to exhume Franco from the Valley of the Fallen monstrosity and inter him elsewhere. I have never understood why a Fascist shrine was allowed in the first place. The argument is that it is a memorial to both sides, however that doesn't quite chi...
