Re: Ryanair industrial action July

Never heard of Botellones? Been lots of problems reported in the press. I think some UK cities do have problems but I don't live close to a city so difficult to say. There has always been rowdiness at turning out time, remember when I was young and living in London. Seen it in the Daily Fail but a c...

My daughter flew to Ibiza last year, typical young persons destination. She received an email from Ryanair prior to flying announcing that bags would be searched at the gate and alcohol would be confiscated. Also stated anyone seen to be intoxicated would be refused boarding...Lot's of young people w...

Re: Ryanair industrial action July

In the USA if duty free is bought at the airport it is delivered straight to your flight and only handed over on landing. Has been like that for as long as I can remember. Athough they have always had strict alcohol laws anyway. Some places in California don't allow it on the beach. I haven't been i...

Re: Ryanair industrial action July

Does anyone really buy alcohol at the airport when travelling. Cheaper when you arrive, even in Caribbean etc.

Re: Sites smiliar to Gumtree.

Thanks that was my thought but their gardener came up with an idea. Did them a sheet with photos and put it on a few notice boards including one outside the Ayuntamiento. Nice man, he even arranged to be there when people were viewing as I told him I was worried about their vulnerability. Most items...

Flu Jab

Going for mine today. Was told at the surgery that it will be different this year. Thought they meant the strain of bug but according to BBC something is being added to boost elderly immune systems as last year it only worked for one in ten. Hope it has been well tested

Re: Rosé wine.

Yes I remember getting French wines from Alcampo. El Corte Ingles gourmet shop in Banus has a good selection....at a price! I used to buy Barbadillo White from Cadiz area, crisp and dry and not expensive, perhaps they do a rose?

Re: Rosé wine.

The Californian ones tend to be too sweet. Not a great lover of any but I prefer the blush with a hint on pink. There is a good one from Bilbao region which is barely pink. I prefer them from provence but useless to recommend here as they won't be obtainable.

BA fiasco

Seems the data hack may cost BA millions, shares dropped too. Must be really inconvenient for those on holiday and need new cards if they only have one. I just missed the hack, I think  Booked flights on the 6th and haven't had the dreaded email. Today I went online to pay a large sum to Virg...

Re: Japanese souffle pancakes

No, but I will stick with the conventional English pancake. You can’t cover them with sugar and lemon juice and roll them up! If you are going to all the trouble to make them I would rather cook a proper soufflé. Sid Absolutely. I have never eaten anything good out of Japan. Have a friend who trave...

Re: fishing

I have never seen fruit and veg from France for sale in the UK. Maybe they have priced themselves out if the Nice markets are an indicator. Plenty of cheeses and I buy a herb infused olive oil from provence. Perhaps they will use airfreight more although a lot of produce is now from Morocco, seems t...
