Re: New Car v Used Car

In my post box today from local VW dealer...Cost price plus a £1. Wide choice of models, specifications, colours all brand new. First come first served. Wonder if they will knock the quid off for cash :lolno: :lolno:

Re: New Car v Used Car

Katy, if you can live with the "stigma" of buying nearly new I'd like to see you do your figures again, that is a really cost effective way of not chucking money down the drain with no real negatives. You have the advantage as well because these cars are hard to shift at present and super...

Re: New Car v Used Car

Just read an article saying 80% of new car sales last year in the UK were PCP, don't know whether that's a trend happening in other countries too. If true then I'm staggered. A salesman must now look in disbelief when someone walks in to actually buy a car. This is the feeling I get from talking to...

Re: New Car v Used Car

10K over 4 years 247.49€ per month = 11.879€ There might have been a set up charge as well because I remember I worked out the overall saving to have been just under 200€ That's crazy...so how do they make a profit ? That's what I can't work out, surely the Dealer only gets a small amount o...

Re: New Car v Used Car

DA Glad you pointed that out, was my thoughts that the interest paid back must be huge. Bad enough the car depreciating without paying loads of interest. No matter what deals I am offered I always have the feeling I have been done, a lot here offer free extras, everything but a cuddly toy! What is P...

Good thinking Paddy. I had an account in the Netherlands when I lived there although was easy as I used to visit there a lot to see family.

Re: Your favourite local Restaurante

I am not a great fish lover. Cod in beer batter is still my favourite  I like salmon, fresh not farmed. Hate it smoked. Mussels in white wine still my favourite. Wouldn't say fish is cheap in Spanish restaurants, particularly when sold by weight. I rarely choose fish in restaurants but some...

Re: Leasing a car.

No it isn't under warranty now so will probably go with Costa kid. Was with 5 women this weekend and two had lease cars and thought it was great. Not sure myself, can't decide. One sells yachts so I suppose she has tax advantages although I am sure I could wangle something. My car is a VW but I won'...

Leasing a car.

Do they do car leasing in Spain? what does the team think of leasing? This weekend i spoke to two people who think it's great but many on google say nay. I understand there can be tax advantages for some. I get fed up of low offers when I want to sell my car. Another question, do I have to take noti...

Re: Common tourist phrases in bars and cafes

Have always found New York quite reasonable but as with any tourist area there are rip off joints. One in Marbella charges 70 euro for an average bottle of Prosecco. Then there is St Marks Square, Venice where some charge 20 euro for a coffee.

Re: How to complain and who too.

Have a google, Indesit may have a web page where you can do it online. Put something like" Quejas, Servicio de atención al cliente Indesit" Or you may be able to do it from the consumer dept. where you live.

Good to hear most escaped it. Got this in my inbox today as we stay there sometimes. Bridges washed away, houses ruined by mud. Devastating.

Re: Chiringuitos

Only used it when we had people staying with us. A rip off poshed up chiringuito close by. owned by a British family, great food, unusual menu but expensive. Didn't mind paying for good food but it was their devious tricks. They would come round with a large bread basket , delicious hot rolls, all v...

Some even charge for olives close to the one I mentioned. If I went for a takeaway at local Chinese they gave me a gin and tonic whilst waiting.

Re: Chiringuitos

Once happened to us in Marbella. Ordered them and then noticed a group at the next table happily eating them but all the entrails were still in! Also saw them putting new ones on the stakes in the sand and they hadn't been gutted. I was off them before they arrived. Can't do with fish with heads on ...
