Re: Tourism Registry for holiday lets

You need a vivienda rurales licence. This is for rural houses. A/C is not a requirement.

Re: Ryanair industrial action July

That was very cheap, Costa. I paid for my son and two grandsons back in January and it was 475 € return to BIRMINGHAM. I had incorrectly thought that it would be cheaper to book early. I have never had any problems with Ryanair before though, until this cabin staff strike. I would like to be compens...

Re: Tourism Registry for holiday lets

You need to make an appointment at your local guardia civil and take a spanish speaker if you cannot manage, copies and originals of everything, inc. your new certificate. They will call you back in a couple of days and show you how to do online entries and give you a code. We found them to be extre...

Re: Ryanair industrial action July

My grandchildren's flights for 26th July, UK to Malaga were recently cancelled by Ryanair- by an email message. I had a week's notice. The live chat lines were inundated and we could not connect, so opted for the payment to be given back, which is on a different system and we were able to get throug...

Re: Padron renewed every 5 years

We received a registered letter from Alhaurin de la Torre, asking us to renew, about 18 months ago. We were given a 5 year padron collectivo ie in joint names for the first time. I think we paid 8 euros for the double certificate.

Re: blue passport

Pre EU, British passports were black and my burgundy passport has always worn a black leather cover. I voted against joining back in the early seventies and have neither changed my opinion nor the colour of the cover. Might have to get a blue cover next, why not black again ? I am rather fond of my ...

Re: Cruise Travel Agents

RC / Royal Carribbean took over Pullmantur back in 2006, Katy. I have cruised with them 3 times from 2010 to last year and never witnessed any of the above bun fighting, lack of seats etc. Languages given were Spanish and English only. Perhaps it was like that pre 2006 but things sometimes change. Y...

Re: Cruise Travel Agents

Pullmantur, a Spanish cruise line owned by RC, have changed one of their spring itineraries for 2018 and instead of sailing back to the carib for winter, the ship Horizon is cruising Dec /January/ Feb/Mar from Tenerife and prices include flights from Madrid but you have to get the train from Malaga ...

Re: Golf course suited to novices

Lauro Golf is a 27 hole course and I know quite a few novices who have stayed at our holiday complex and have said they enjoyed playing there. I live next door to it and have no affiliation whatsoever. I think you will find that it is suitable for the requirements you asked for in the opening post a...

Lauro Golf is not as taxing as Alhaurin golf which has a lot more hills according to my golfing guests.

Re: Complaints book

I agree with Trooperman and Miro. I have had VTAR licences for years. Renting in this manner is not a business. We have never been requested to provide a complaints book, only fire extinguishers, medical box etc.,

Re: Emabesa refund on water leak repair

We have had a similar problem this month, our leak was also on our land between the meter and the house, but our water company AGUA LAURO have been really helpful and kind. Ours was also an invisible leak and we were made aware of it because they sent an engineer out to warn us of excessive consumpt...

Las clausalas suelo

I recently read that a new law may be passed as early as Friday instructing banks ref. las clausalas suelo. I went to my bank a year ago to check if my mortgage had the floor clause and was told it did not. However, knowing now that my bank is one of those affected, I am a little suspicious. Can one...

Re: ?anyone tried growing water lilies?

We have a couple in our pond. The leaves die off at this time of year so need to be removed ready for Spring growth. They make great floating platforms for the frogs to eat and mosquitoes, etc . Ours like still water but are fine with the waterfall if not too powerful so we place the pots away from ...

Re: Import tax on your belongings - Removals!

We arrived from Venezuela in 2000. Our furniture, personal goods and chattels were subject to a large amount of tax, which we did not know about before. Fortunately the company my husband worked for paid the costs or they would not let us remove them from store at the port of Algerciras. As I recall...

I have one hotmail account still in the original format but the other changed to outlook about 2 months ago. I find the new system slow and clumsy. When you first start to use it , make sure that the message you sent actually goes out by checking in the sent messages box. A couple of times my messag...

Re: Migraines

I didn't want to scare any migraine sufferers, so I should point out that I have a rare migraine type - basilar with minor epilepsy, but am not epileptic. Inherited through faulty gene, so I experience paralysis in the mouth, lips and often hands on a regular basis. Hard to convince doctors that you...
