Re: Owner not paying yearly community fee

At the next AGM, it can be prposed that non payers should be taken to court to enforce e payment. This needs a majority vote of those either attending the AGM or reresented by proxy. The Community administrator or President can then set this in motion. There are a number of lawyers who are able to a...

Re: Caceres .places to stop on the return journey

Osuna is a lovely old town well worth a visit. Baroque palaces and churches. Scenes from Game of Thrones filmed here. Around an hour west of Antequera.

If you are using Booking.com, scroll down to the facilities section on any particular hotel and it usualy states if there is 24hr reception, together with details of bar, food, wifi, parking, pets allowed etc.

Re: Driving from Seville airport to Torrox - advice please :)

The only tricky bit is around Seville, however its well lit and if you follow the signs you will have no problems. Once out of Seville it is all dual carriageway and an easy drive. Make sure you follow the signs at Antequera towards Malaga. Dont worry, its an easy drive.

Re: Driving from Seville airport to Torrox - advice please :)

You dont need to use the Toll roads at all on this route. I think the only Toll section, which is optional, is just south of Antequera towards Malaga.
If you are using a GPS or mobile phone route planner, just put "avoid Tolls" in the options settings.

Re: Hospital Comarcal - good? Or go Private?

My wife has been using Comarcal for many years, mainly for cancer diagnosis and treatment, and has experienced nothing but the finest treatment. Their diagnostic equipment is all bang up to date and, unlike the UK, never put cost first. MRI and CT scans are carried out as routine, and results are de...

Re: horizontal property law and Apartment Barbecues

I dont think that there is anything within the LPH that refers to this, however many communities and urbanisations may have restrictions written within its Bye-Laws. You would need to check with the President or Administrator as to any bye laws that refer to this.

Re: Spanish Postal Service

Go into your local correos and ask for redirection. You can choose between 6 month or 12 month, and there is a charge depending on which you choose. I am not sure what the current charges are, but when I did it a few years ago it wasnt too expensive.

Re: Summer grass watering

If its on an unbanisation the water used for watering may be "grey" water. This comes from sinks, showers etc within the urb. and will get filtered as it is absorbed by the grass/soil.

Re: Owner not paying yearly community fee

If you are a community regulated by the Horizontal Property Law, you do have some recourse. If someone fails to pay community charges, they can be taken to court to recover the amount together with court costs and interest. There is now a more streamlined way of achieving this, which your community ...

Not every Notary or Lawyers close in August, although many work mornings only. You may find some delay but you should be able to complete a sale/purchase during the holiday period.

Why wouldn't you sign on ? Even if you only spend a few months here, if you own a house you would expect to receive certain services. Whilst most services are covered by IBI payments, others depend on money received directly from the government. Health centres for example, and yes, you or your guest...

You are correct Katy, if you are over 65 the license is free. You need to go to your Oficina Agraria to get one. Here in Caleta we use the Oficina Comarcal Agrari de Velez-malaga. They also issue cheaper licenses than Telelicencia, but buying it online is much simpler. You do not need to pass any ex...

Re: Question about unpaid Community Fees

There is no where in the Horizontal Property Law that states that an officer must be up to date with their fees in order to perform their duties, however, they cannot vote on any matter concerning the community.
Any officer can be removed from office by a majority vote at either an AGM or EGM.

Over 2 floors I have 3 x door detectors, 2 x motion detectors, 2 x still cameras, control box by the front door, and a mobile unit upstairs with all sorts of gadgets on it. Oh, and one of their reps was passing the other week when we were having the outside painted, and dropped off two new signs !!
