There is a bus that runs from Canillas, through Competa down to Torre del Mar and on into the bus station at Malaga. You can get a timetable from the agents in Competa (up the hill towards the car park and on the left, Loymerbus I think)

Hi, I`m going to the the Noche de Vino this year for the first time, with my wife and daughter who went last year. By all accounts it`s a great night but don`t expect it to start early as per usual! El Pilon in Competa is excellent for a nice meal, but book early, they speak excellent English 952 55...

Yes I agree, superb pictures.
When did you go up, and did you go from Canillas de Aceituno or Albaida?

(Is there a bar at the top???)

Puerto Banus barriers

How can I get to drive along and park at the puerto? there are barriers either end, is it a case of buying a ticket, or do you have to have some kind of pass?

That`s not unusual, the letterplate surround is injection moulded whereas the rest of the system is extruded, for this reason we only use Black letterplate surrounds!

Not at all, PVCu will expand/contract when there is a variation in temp. but the tolerances built in to the system will allow for this.
As long as you go for a reputable window system (Plastmo, Rehau, Kommerling etc) , there should be no discolouration issues.

PVCu is probably the best in the long run. The frames tend to be a bit thicker than Aluminium, but their maintenance free finish is a bonus. If you are going for DG to insulate in the winter then insist on a LowE glass like Pilkington `K` or a softcoat glass, these units are 60% more efficient than ...

I guess the intricacy of the scroll work takes away from the neccessity and adds to the visual appeal, it`s a shame we need these grills but if we have to have them at least we can make them look a bit nicer!!!
But yes, they are a pain in the arriss to maintain aren`t they?

Here`s a thought, window security bars that detach from the inside in case of fire. Instead of having the bars bricked in, have an extension piece running through to the inside of the house in each of the four corners with a form of `key` that can be removed from the inside. If you need to get out i...

Steve and Yvonne, re Rabid anti-French views. While I have nothing against the French other than the occasioanal bad attitude they appear to have against English, regarding the French roads, I had to pay 150euro to use the French roads to come from Calais to Spain. French drivers in the UK pay nothi...

At risk of sounding like an alcoholic (!) I went down to Mudgley Hill in Somerset and brought back a gallon of scrumpy. I`ve never been in a place like it! 3 floor to ceiling barrels full of cider and a farmer who literally chewed on straw and held his trousers up with string  Think if I mixed ...

It cost me 158euro in tolls to get from Calais to Malaga in a transit. There is a higher rate for commercial vehicles than cars. The bulk of the tolls were in France, with the trip from Paris to the Midi Pyrenees region the most expensive If you go on viamichelin you will be able to get an idea of c...

Yeah,I saw the news report too, it doesn`t say wether the police questioned the man about where the money came from, but I wonder wether the result would have been different if the finder had not been in the police station at the time the `loser` came in  :?

Anewlife - I`m glad you said it, cos I was thinking it was only me. Yes, what an awful country to drive through! Expensive toll roads, dirty hotels etc. But the new bridge at Millau almost made up for it!
