Re: reduction in OTC at chemists

Tried two more, this time in Loja, today. Same story. So I will make an appointment to see the doctor on Thursday and spend/waste? 50 minutes round trip and pollute the planet to boot. Price of progress. I have always maintained that chemists should take some of doctors workload and sell you somethi...

reduction in OTC at chemists

Went to my farmacia here today. Another box of hayfever tablets please? Sorry can't sell you them now over the counter. You have to have a prescription. Pointed to a long printed sheet explaining changes. Loratadine 10mg. You can buy them in Wilko in the Uk for around 99p. I sort of understand why b...

Re: 907 tv signal weak

Update. The new LNB arrived on Thursday so marked relative position to clamp and exchanged them. Then spent about 30 minutes moving a bit and getting TV signal strength via walkie talkie (very handy). I also moved the dish very small amount towards the prevailing wind. Quite surprising what a differ...

Re: Former Iberbanda Customers

irismary - sounds good. Is that unlimited Internet? Also does it slow down during school arrival, leaving, breaks and 4 work rush hours?

We had 3G from Orange and Movistar some years back. they were both diabolical during peak times slowing to virtually nothing.

Re: Prefab/modular/eco homes

There is a programme available on bbc iplayer of amazing Spanish homes. One was 11 hideous rusty metal containers linked by a corridor.

Of course money and famous architect talks. I wouldnt have been able to get permission for it but theni am not a famous architect or rich.

Re: 907 tv signal weak

Old people that can't watch UK TV. No decent internet to stream TV. Hopefully my Spanish seller will have the item here early next. Some Uk sellers were offering up to two weeks plus the Seur "only deliver to your area on a Thursday malarkey" This is coming through Correos. 20 euros includ...

Re: 907 tv signal weak

Can't find how to see if any of the Amazon.es suppliers are Spanish based. We need a twin even though a single could give a better signal. I was just about to plump for a quad from France but suspect that splitting the signal compromises quality, ditto quad to single? Just bought a twin from orbital...

Re: 907 tv signal weak

Beni I have a Black Premium 40mm dual lnb already. Where did you get yours from please ? Locally or mail order? I am quite keen on that as a possible fix. The signal strength is 33 % now. I was thinking that some sort of adjustable stay fastened to the wall and the rim of the bigger dish would be a ...

907 tv signal weak

For some time we have suffered poor signal. Understandable when we had bad weather over the last few weeks but it is still poor now we have fine weather. Anyone else having the same problem at the moment? If not then maybe my 80 cm dish has moved. It does sit in the prevailing wind. Would a larger d...

Re: Car modification and legalities of it.

I agree with the others. Buy a suitable spec car and then bring it over. I suspect that the odd one or two modded cars you see here revert to standard spec wheels for their ITV (MOT). I also agree that the ITV test is fairly rigorous but I have had things pass that would have been a UK fail. Yesterd...

Re: Bird migration this year

I heard my first cuckoo today. Some way off. The lone swallow is pitiful. It is trying to attract a presumably replacement mate and keeps showing the other swallow last years unsuccessful nesting site. It was ragged by a large flock of Blue "magpies". They have had the temerity to build th...

Re: Home Bread Making

Mercadona used to, until quite recently, do a very nice raspberry cheesecake. Our local manager thinks it has been withdrawn. A bit like the excellent almond cake at Lidl. He pointed us to the Blackcurrant mousse which is pretty poor but probably offers them better margins. I agree that the breads h...

Re: Bird migration this year

Update. Still haven't heard or seen a cuckoo yet this year despite being out in the groves each day. Anyone else heard one? The lone swallow vanished after about 11 nights of roosting, then reappeared three nights ago. Talking with a local , he thinks that a lot of migrating birds perished on arriva...

On the plus side this year so far has been very good for us hay fever sufferers. I have a sneaky feeling the Oaks and Olives (late flowering Picauls and Hoji Blancas) will let rip all at once when we have warmer weather.

Pool filter issues?

I have been trying to whip the swimming pool into shape. It went OK to start with. PH level fine after reducing. Shocked with chlorine and it was Ok for a few days. Then went light green. Added Flocculant and got good amount of browny green stuff on the bottom and water was OK'ish. Started vacuuming...

Ok. In which case bottled water , in recyclable containers of course, would be just as effective.
