Re: Rodents

Of greater concern is damage to the wiring loom

Keep putting bait down until you smell decomposing rodent. I find Mercadona's offering the most effective. Red and black box.

Re: Now In

Couldn't find it in our local Mercadona.

I asked an assistant and they said that the stores do have different stock. I know that is the case as we were surprised at the selection of cakes and bread at the one near Granada airport for example.

Re: Help with accommodation in Andalucia

Welcome to the forum. Sounds like a great adventure. Spain has a good sized network of high speed trains but there are some big gaps. Our nearest access point ( Loja) hasnt had a scheduled train run through it for 18 months die to upgrade works. The “ service “ still runs but is a bus. I believe thi...

Re: Recycling in Spain..Update...

So which is the heaviest ? ..a tonne of feathers or a tonne of steel ?

Easy. At first I thought it was a trick question but it is the steel as it has 25% tariff on top as the world goes mad.

Re: Nevada shopping

I have very mixed feelings about Nevada shopping. It is fairly easy to get into but getting out is always a hassle with roads taking you to a roundabout or two in a wilderness. Free underground parking which is good and air conditioned shopping. However if you buy anything large from Leroy Merlin th...

Re: Recycling in Spain..Update...

Mixed bag. Only yesterday we took a carload to recycle and found the general waste( landfill) bin full of cardboad with the adjacent cardboard bin nearly empty. That was in Loja too. Wehad driven past another cardboard recycling bin as it was so full folk had just dumped theirstuff alongside. I carr...

Re: Bathroom supplies

Welcome to the forum.

I think I know what you are after. Try Porcelenosa . They have stores at Malaga and Granada with good displays. None display items they get from catalogues. You might also try the DIY sheds like Leroy Merlin and Bauhaus. leroy Merlin has a good online website.

Hope that helps.

Re: Well water

Welcome to the forum. Plenty of info if you search on wells on here. The key thing to remember is just because a well has water now , there is no guarantee year on year. A modest household might use 500 to 700 litres a day. This goes up a lot if you syart irrigating gardens. Hot water on demand. Thr...

Re: UK State pension calculation

I suggest you call the pensions people and they will make an appointment to call back and discuss. I have come across this situation recently and 35 years were not required (only 30) for a pension of around 175 pounds a week. They are working out some pensions in the new way for that cohort and som...

The place is on my list to visit. I fear it may be closed down following Franco's remains removal.

Re: Solar heat swimming pool

I was going to start a new thread but this one covers the subject. We had some visitors that were surprised at how "cold" our pool was. I used a thermometer which gave a reading of 25 deg C. My rule of thumb is the pool temp is about the minimum daily air temp plus a third of the differenc...

Re: Ryanair industrial action July

Maybe I am getting older but I appreciate being able to have a coffee and perhaps something to eat depending on the time of day on my flights. Sometimes I actually prebook a meal. I am not a fan at all of airport dining at either end - to me an airport is somewhere to get on and off planes. On the t...

Update. Got a like for like replacement from Proinco. Bit more than from mail order. Happy enough though. Inlet is larger than old one but it comes with options to change with a bit of work. I thought it was a bit mean to not have mains cable supplied. Anyway it is up and working. Thanks for help. L...

That is why the walkways are always empty . They should have been between the car park and the terminal.

I now carry a rubber bungee strap to wrap around the handle of those luggage trolleys to keep the brake off. Designed for gorillas not people with arthritis or other ailments.
