Care homes and home care for the elderly

This is a subject I have been thinking about for a while and Benidorm's recent post has prompted me to start a thread to share info. We have an elderly relative living with us and generally it is all working well. This may or could change if they had a debilitating stroke for example. So far we have...

I read that wholesale prices are lower so could drop 3 or 4 cents. Just in time for any end of month budget increase!

Re: Ryanair industrial action July

Interesting that Italy is opening a probe into Ryanair hand luggage charges. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-45595149 Ryanair spokesman Kenny Jacobs said: "We look forward to co-operating with this Italian inquiry. All Ryanair customers are free to bring one piece of carry-on bag onboard. B...

My suspicion is as the UK licence has expired and you dont live there you will have to take your test here. An expert will be along to confirm or other.

Re: Spanish government planning action on owners of empty homes

I saw that article and thought the same. many unanswered questions. might be a good idea in somewhere like Barcelona where Airbnb has skewed prices but I cannot see it working in a very rural area like ours or even in traditional Spanish small towns. The population of our nearest small town decrease...

I do. When I go back to the Uk, I generally take a couple of litre bottles of Larios as a present for the sister in law. About the price peteroldracer pays.

Wicksey. Was that an understandable Freudian slip? Stag /hen parties Adults. Not a good way to run a service. Not having milk, wine etc on board. So if you have paid priority and only have one bag which you want to have in the cabin so you can make a quicker getaway at arrivals then you wont ...

You can buy home blood pressure machines quite cheaply.

Handy piece of kit for most homes.

Re: Another good experience.....

We have had several Aand E experiences this year alone. Last was on Monday. It is always most efficient and clean. I agree there seems to be plenty of staff. Yes there is waiting but they tell you why and what is happening e.g. waiting for blood test results. We had a family member in observation wa...

No, never heard of them before. Google suggests they are nice.

Where are they available in Andalucia?

I think it is a racing certainty that diesel will be taxed more.

There are still polution issues in major cities. We see the huge pall over Granada city.

While prices are at there current low, I will give them Ultimate a try.

What about using the higher quality Diesel at say Repsol periodically instead of their effitec plus?

Fuel prices

I notice huge variations on my travels. Our local area always enjoys low prices. I think this is down to being a rural area with low price fuel at the farming co ops. On top of this there are what I call low price operations. Not affiliated to a national chain and non attended service , pay by card....

Re: car transport

Thanks Al and I think you are bang on with all you say, although I'd thought the car new in 1988 may have been cheaper than 11k, I'll have to check on that. 9.5K rings a bell. Yep, your therapy comment is also true albeit tongue in cheek, the money I've seen thrown at classics (as I'm sure you have...

Re: piped water to hamlets?

Back in England (North Yorkshire), my dad helped labour on the installation of a ram water system in the early 1950's. It still feeds a remote hamlet today. When I was young I looked for the electricity to it but there isn't any. the stream fills a chamber and then that rams a quantity of water up a...

Re: humidity this summer

Don't know about the humidity. This last week has been odd . We had a very localised and heavy storm. That left that lovely clean smell afterwards but was humid. The locals always say that July is the hotter month but we always feel August is hotter. maybe the novelty of the heat wears thin by Augus...

1982 in our area. Needed electric installing in the area. that waited until 1981

It isn't a universal right either.
