UK data sims , contracts and roaming

I have just come back from the Uk and the SIM deals seemed very competitive compared to Spanish ones though I am by no means an expert on the subject. It got me thinking. We have a 3 SIm and MiFi with 20GB per month on it which we used to use a lot when we were making numerous journeys back and fort...

Re: Moving inland

Couple of considerations. First is to make sure you can get some form of Internet. Plenty of threads on here about what might be available if you haven't got copper or fibre into the house. If you are really rural you might ultimately consider http://www.movistar.es/particulares/television/fusion-pl...

Re: Ryanair luggage change

I have just travelled on Jet2. Boarding was the usual debacle. Three students in front sat down having spread their small suitcases and bags in different overhead lockers. Then on with the main event of finishing their enormous pop drinks. Later decided to take their overcoats off and spread them el...

Re: Removal of furniture from fourth floor apartment

I have seen all sorts of large items being put into flats in Loja by a mobile lift. Clever bit of kit presumably owned by the local dept store or rented for the occasion. they look like a giant fire ladder and the platform moves up the frame. Might be worth asking at the local dept store.

What a marketing triumph. We had better supply a lighter bottle to compete with our competitor. We will charge more and put less gas in them.

Re: I Really Must Make More Effort !!!

Gordon Look forward to Lorca and any other of your weekly visits. Talking of back yard visits, have you done Loja to Sierra de Loja? You can get round to Salar one way and the other takes you to Zafaraya ( need a 4x4). Plenty to see apart from the staggering views. Blue thrushes, choughs, raptors, H...

Re: I Really Must Make More Effort !!!

Hi Gordon I was waiting for someone esle to ask. In their absence , please could we have your Lorca visit resume? I always think that individuals thoughts are better than more official guides. You can for example say food at this place was good, don't use xx as the toilets are not good. Parking is b...

Re: I Really Must Make More Effort !!!

We have been half a dozen times and like you Beni first went more years ago than we care to remember. In those days you could drive right up to the entrance and park for free. No timed tickets and no hordes making photos difficult. The last time was with friends and was a modern experience. Drive st...

Re: Question for El Cid - rainfall

I don't keep rainfall records but I do know that the last 2 winters here (Axarquia Alta) were very dry and we look as if this winter might be similar (but it's early days yet) ... I also know that, for the first time in the 18 years I have known it, the stream here has been bled almost dry by farme...

Question for El Cid - rainfall

I know you keep records of rainfall and although the year isn't over yet, have you a rough idea of how much rainfall you have measured compared with the norm? ( I realise that normal is a bit subjective as the climate is changing and generally getting drier here) The reason for asking is that I have...

Re: Spain isnt cheap

Agreed. It is colouring just what we buy. Two days ago, I watched a woman successfully park her car in a space that was a good foot too small. She just rammed the other cars away a little. I wonder if that would damage an auto transmission in park?

See what you have done. That poor man has had to retire to his sealed bunker, how will Danta deliver his presents now?

I know you can get therapy in the UK fo SPROUT aversion on the NHS but is there anything similar here?

There that has done it. You have roused Benidorm from his Christmas convivial coma. He will be having nightmares now about the little green blighters. Our Mercadona had them the other day.

Parsnips. Harder to find inland

Re: Spain isnt cheap

Jogger. My viewpoint in buying lhd in UK is that the prices are very little different to Spain. That is factoring in ( for us) viewing/ purchase trip, getting vehicle back to Spain and if required any matriculation costs. There is no doubt that car prices here in Spain are higher than elsewhere in E...

Re: anyone taken an item back to IKEA and got their money back?

Result. We cleaned it thoroughly and packed it up and took it back today. Explained the shortcomings and they didn't bat an eyelid and offered a store credit. We stuck out for a refund in cash to our bank account so we can buy elsewhere. A bit of manager consultation and that was agreed. Well done I...
