Alternative to BB4Spain

BB4Spain has annoyingly announced a nearly 50 per cent price increase for its increasingly poor internet service. Does anyone have any experience of Axartel, Winet or any others in the Axarquia region?

Re: El Canuelo, near Periana is open again!

What a shame. I agree the prices are on the high side (to match their location maybe!). We have been for tapas recently which didn't work out too expensive. I met my husband there 13 years ago so I guess I have a particular soft spot for the place! I don't think El Canuelo is on Trip Advisor is it?

Re: Almunecar International school

There's one in Anoreta, near Rincon de la Victoria, called Novaschool or Novasoft and there's St Georges in Malaga. I think Anoreta follows the Spanish curriculum and St Georges the English system.

Re: El Canuelo, near Periana is open again!

Yes the names are confusing. The people who built Cantueso (and sadly no longer run it) used to run El Canuelo just to make it even more confusing! I recommend you ring El Canuelo before you go as Manolo's hours can sometimes be a bit erratic especially out of season. His number is 639266013. I thin...

I don't think Peteroldracer means El Canuelo - I assume he is talking about Cantueso further down towards Periana, which does set menus. El Canuelo is a fantastic place run by a charming Spanish man Manolo. Food and views are excellent.

Re: Broadband4Spain - quality of phone calls

Thanks Enrique. I do have Skype but I don't often use phone bit of it for a variety of reasons. I am curious about the quality of B4S calls as it's free to any landline in Europe (a lot of people I call don't have Skype). Thanks anyway.

Broadband4Spain - quality of phone calls

Hi I'm thinking of changing from Iberbanda to Broadband4spain which has free calls to Europe. I was just wondering what the quality of the calls would be like. Iberband works pretty well for me but it's expensive and I call the UK a fair amount so if I could get free calls so much the better! Does a...

Suncream 'tidemark'

Hi,

This year I have a gross green/yellow strip at the water level on our painted pool, which I think is caused by suncream. Has anyone else had this and got rid of it successfully..?

Parking Malaga Airport for the weekend

Hi can any recommend a car park for the weekend which is easy to get to etc. I see the airport uses P3 for long term at 4 euros a day - any one used it? I know there is a lot of choice but as the airport is changing constantly I thought I'd better check. Thanks

Urgent - can anyone help house 3 dogs before Saturday...

Hi a friend's housesitter has apparently had a stroke and is leaving Spain on Saturday. He has 4 dogs - one of which he will take back to UK - and the others have nowhere to go. CAS and other places have been contacted but nowhere has said they can take them this week. One is a Spanish mastiff cross...

Anyone use Yoigo?

Hi I'm thinking of changing from Movistar to Yoigo as the international text rates are 8 cents compared to 60 cents. I've read that the Yoigo texting service can sometimes be not very good. Does anyone use Yoigo and how do you find them? Also can you use Yoigo roaming in UK?
Thanks

Drain problem

Does anyone know of a plumber in Axarquia who has camera facilities to look at drains. We are having persistent problems with blocked drains and don't really want to break up all the flooring. Any recommendations? Thanks

Picking up at Malaga airport

I haven't been to Malaga airport since the new bit opened - is it still possible to wait in the car outside arrivals or do you have to park to go and pick someone up? It's a Ryanair flight so I think it comes to terminal 2. Any tips appreciated... Thanks

TV with incorporated TDT and Sky

I'm having problems with getting TDT and Sky to work on normal old TV. If I use that as an excuse to upgrade TV to an LCD with incorporated TDT will Sky work just by plugging into scart on TV?
