Hola

When I turned 70 I lost a few categories including B1 as I believe I am no longer entitled to drive certain categories due to my age?

Re: house alarm

Hola

I have two dogs as a deterrent and also a Maplin 8 camera system. I stress it is a deterrent as they can see the infrared lights of a night and therefore there has to be a system behind it.

Re: No dash-cams at ITV centre

Hola

I also have a dashcam and am very happy to use it. However I recently discovered they are banned in Portugal - I pop over the border several times a year so just a word of caution for all - check the countries you intend to travel in if you have a dashcam

Re: Buying a rural property - are any legal??

Hola It was a condition of the AFO at one time that the septic tank was one of the new three part plastic ones, not just the "hole in the ground" that most properties have. I don't know if that is still the case but I do know that there are several Ayuntamientos that will not issue an AFO ...

Re: Buying a rural property - are any legal??

Hola The answer is complicated in some ways until you understand the law of administrative silence when after six years without any action against the house, it is allowed to be there for ever more. If proceedings have already started then beware in most cases. So any house that is over six years ol...

Re: International driving licence

Hola

I got an IDP a couple of years ago - simple and no fuss at the Trafico in Cádiz - I needed it because there was a hiccup in renewing my Spanish licence so I got one to drive through France to England.

Re: Spanish tax office trying to collect tax on UK Govt Pension

Hola,

Spain is trying to make everyone get the gross pay from the UK and have it taxed here. Cyprus & the UK recently came to an agreement about not taxing such pensions in the UK. Spain as yet do not have an agreement - unless anyone knows different

Yes I do know an engineer that can provide a Ficha Technical Reducida in the event that the OP does not have a European Certificate of Conformnity. I obviously will not put the contact details on an open forum.

Hola Now there's an interesting thing; my laptop eventually failed as I knew it was going to (HDD won't launch windows). I had bought a new one in a sale in August for 259€ so I restored all my files (400+Gb) and did all the updates. Winver says I'm on 1803 whereas my old laptop was on 1809 Davexf

Re: Exchanging UK driving Licence for a Spanish one

Re: Exchanging UK driving Licence for a Spanish one

Hola The various medical centres can usually change your licence but if you go to trafico then they will tell you what you need. A photo is usually needed and if you don't have a photocard licence then you will need a photo as well as a medical. My last change of driving licence (Spanish since 2004)...
