Re: 3% retention tax

I have no idea what the hold up was.

Info for anyone else who may be interested. The money was paid directly into our UK bank account so no need to keep your Spanish bank account open.

Re: 3% retention tax

Just as a matter of interest ,if anyone is wondering how long repayment takes,I sold my property in early March and the Spanish government have reimbursed the balance of my 3% retention today. So from the day of sale completion to repayment it was a little shy of 8 months. We received our CGT back ...

Re: Cruise Travel Agents

There are quite a few cruise lines that leave from Barcelona. Royal Caribbean, Celebrity, Norwegian, Princess to name a few. You could either fly, take the train or drive from Malaga. If you Google cruises from Barcelona it will bring up many UK agents who will happily book your cruise for you but d...

Re: 3% retention tax

This cannot be done online or by telephone. The enquiry has to be made in person at the local tax office. The clock will start again once any necessary documentation has been submitted. The question of fiscal residency only comes into the equation when the claimant has previously been a fiscal resi...

Re: 3% retention tax

Our solicitor told us this as well. However, we would be happy just to get our 3% back as we sold our house a year ago yesterday.

Re: Leaving Andalucia....

Does anyone have any experience on how long it takes the Spanish authorities to return the 3% retention ,or what remains of it? I sold in March. The selling process was very quick, our English estate agent was great as was our Spanish lawyer. But why,oh why, does it take so long to get a final electr...

Re: Tax Form 720 Asset declaration

We were unaware of having to file a Tax 720 Asset declaration so filed our first one late. Despite our tax advisor having assurances from the tax office we would not be fined they decided that a 3,000 euro fine each would be suitable punishment for this crime! Yes 6,000 euros total just for late sub...

Try Lesley and Derek at http://www.cadizcasa.com. They helped us when we were looking to buy and also when we recently sold. They also do rentals.

Re: Getting NIE in England

When we needed NIEs we phoned a couple of local solicitors in our home town in the UK and asked if there were any notaries in the area who could sort them out for us and lo and behold there was one. Minimal fuss and reasonable cost. It was ten years ago though and we were probably very lucky.

Re: Endesa bill late again?

Since I signed up for electronic billing Endesa please themselves whether they bother emailing me the bill. The first I know about how much I owe them is when they take it out of my bank account. However, if I sign in to my account I can view the invoices whenever I want. Also for some reason it loo...

Re: Remedy for removing moss from patio tiles

To be honest I put some hot water in a bucket and then chucked some bleach in. I used the bleach that you get from Mercadona in a big yellow plastic container if that helps. I also used some of those green scouring pads soaked in the bleach solution to get the worst of it off then wiped it over with...

Remedy for removing moss from patio tiles

Our patio tiles have got really grimy over the winter with moss in the grouting and on the tiles and I would be grateful if anyone could let me know what the best product would be to remove it and where I could get it from.

Many thanks
