Re: Why I chose to live where I Do

Thats why I keep a diary every day now! God knows what I will be like if I get like MIL and start to loose my marbles You know that used to be a constant worry to me, the thought that I might be losing my marbles, however the thought did occur to me, not so long ago, did I actually have them to sta...

Re: I want to go Home to UK!

PP I was reminded of a couple of things late last night and earlier this morning so I thought I would share them with you and anyone else who wishes to read this. "Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass, It's about learning to dance in the rain" How could I possibly forget that ! T...

Re: I want to go Home to UK!

Hey PP Good for you for having the courage to post about how you are really feeling, and it just shows that people can be supportive and understanding. If also gives others the courage to tell it how it is for them, and I am no exception. Mother has been living in Spain for over 21 years, my partner...

Re: Clothes Dryer

I have an Ignis tumble dryer which to be honest I rarely use, but it is there for those occasions where it is imperative to get washing dry in a hurry. I have always had a tumble dryer and although they can be expensive not only to buy but to run they are little godsends. Being the mother of 4 kids ...

Re: Minus 2 here this morning

Pretty cold here in Pulpite (Baza, Granada area) Had a lot of snow yesterday and into the evening, I would say at least a foot. Power went out during the night but is back on now. Sun was out briefly this morning but I think it was just a guest appearance....lol. Looking as though there is more to c...

Re: A Happy and Sunny Christmas?

Well today went very well, popped into our local briefly at lunchtime, just to be sociable you understand  Went back later this evening full of boxing day scoff, and took half of our crimbo cake as we do every year, and were told that it was not for anyone else other than the landlord and the ...

I did something very similar last night but with mushrooms and garlic and in a white/chicken sauce but I added a cheese scone topping.

It was very yummy :)

Re: Mollete

I have to confess until I saw this thread I had never heard of Molletes, so I went for a surf to find out about them. I did find two entirely different recipes. One clearly used yeast, the other I do not think so at first glance. I shall post a link to both for you to compare. http://www.mundoreceta...

Re: Dog Dilema

Valid point about the visitors PP I guess I did not want to admit that he does bite, and told myself he did bite but he is not going to do it again. Lunacy when you look at it all the cold light of day  I think I just wanted him to be acceptable. Problem is with a Dalmatian that because of bla...

Re: Dog Dilema

I think you are right Bongtrees, and that he has been allowed to be too human if you like. My daughter and I were discussing this today whilst collecting wood and she said he has become too humanised and needs to be put in his place and that is at the bottom of the pecking order and he needs to be a...

Re: Dog Dilema

Hi Guys thanks for the replies I have taken everything on board. I agree that Charlie clearly still has issues and I knew this was going to be a long and rocky road. I also understand what hilly said regarding people just not listening when you tell them not to pet the dog. I have strict rules when ...

Re: Dog Dilema

Hi PP He is 5 in May, My niece was 16 when he snapped at her. The child he snapped at was only a toddler, that said I had asked her Mum not to put her down on the floor, which she did and the child lunged at the dog. Not a reason for the dog to snap, but he has no experience with children at all. Co...

Re: It's snowing

Hi Lyric I bet she laughed, the little tinker.....lol I see she is still a sun worshipper. She used to lie just outside the front door in the early morning catching the first rays of the sun, and would lie in the path of any *beep* of sun coming through a window in the evening. The snow has pretty m...

Dog Dilema

I have a doggy problem, quite a serious one, and although in my head I know what I should be doing, my heart is breaking. My silly spotty lad has had a very troubled past, we know some of it but not all (rescue dog). We feel/felt that we had ironed out most of the problems he had, as he is much more...

Re: Friends we make in Spain

Very interesting topic. I have read through everyone's account and there is so much I could agree with. I moved from the Costa Blanca because I really could not stand the bickering, backstabbing and the constant competition to be the top dog socially. Believe me I could hold my own but I really did ...

Re: It's snowing

We have snow here now, about 4"-6", started about tea time and has forgotten to stop. We are just outside Baza in Granada, heading towards Velez Rubio. I will post some pics tomorrow as the camera is in the kitchen and I cannot be bothered to go and get it at this hour.

Re: Animal Neglect....Again!!

Here is a recent picture of Slinky which brought a tear to my eye. She has her name on her tag, and that made me weep when I considered how her life had been. A dog with no name, no home and no love. Now look at her !! I have this picture on the wall alongside those of my other loved pets, past and ...

Re: Mrs B's Favourite Cook Book

My fav has to be one I inherited from my late Mother in law, which was the WI cook book from the Durham area. Has some cracking recipes in it and I think it was published in the early 50's. There are some very traditional and regional recipes, but also some very thrifty recipes, the kind that will p...
