Re: Travelling around Malaga

Doing a bit more investigating...

Seems there is a bus from "Sailtre ( Jacinto Verdaguer ) to Paseo de Sancha ( escuela turismo ), which seems to cover 90% of the journey, with a walk either side.

Thanks costakid.

Travelling around Malaga

We shall be in Malaga for two days mid month. Is it fair comment, that the metro system is presently just west of Maria Zambrano station, and that any journeys in the other direction are taxi, bus, or indeed walking. Our initial journey on arriving is towards, Paseo de Sancha. I am not sure if there...

Re: Common tourist phrases in bars and cafes

Talking about "Scottish"... I remember being in Yates Wine bar in the Strand many moons ago ( now a tapas bar ! ) and hearing a Scottish patron asking the Spanish barman, for a "double across the card " ( me neither ) and looking at him strangely when he had no idea what he was o...

Re: none residents

Maybe I am phrasing that wrong. What he meant was, hitting the the part of the the gas bottle, from where the gas comes up, with something like the end of a match, ( tooth pick might work too I suppose ) unlit of course, to draw some gas, before reconnecting the whole thing. No flames involved ! Its...

Re: none residents

Going to arrange my 5 year "service" when I am out next week, so hopefully this may help the gas situation.

Glad I am not alone in that one. One trick from a neighbour, was to "prime" the gas nozzle of the gas canister with a match, before connecting it.

Re: none residents

My first job is trying to light the gas. Always after some months away, it never seems to want to start. I sometimes just give up, go up town for something to eat, and tackle it when I get back. Always a nice feeling when it finally decides to play ball ! We usually get in late anyway, so next day i...

The problem is, as the old adage goes.

There is one born every minute.

There are numerous stories of people being conned out of their pensions with dodgy investments, no matter how often they are told "if it too good to be true" etc.

Re: Ryanair industrial action July

Just like British Gas putting up their prices recently, others are following suit already...

Won't be long before the rest of the airlines will also be charging for carry on "10kg cases".

Up to now, I am avoiding the latest charge, using BA or easyjet.

Exchange Rates

Anyone have any idea where we are going ?. BREXIT has not helped of course. Bought a few Euros in town earlier at at just over 1.08, at Debenhams of all places. Hardly makes any difference to shop around at the moment, rates are so poor. One saving grace, I got a £5 voucher to go against my purchase...
