fibre not sand for pool ?

this morning someone told me about a fibre which can be used instead of sand to filter pool water ... he did not know what kind of fibre ... ?does anyone know? ... he also said that fibre did not need changing, unlike sand ... ?does anyone use such a fibre and how often does it need changing?

fascinating and delightful story olive ... ?foot stamping ... maybe someone attuned to water diving can hear/feel the earth reverberating as they stamp and when the sound/feel changes there is the water level ... ?

people might not be swimming in the sea around Nerja as there have been many medusa jellyfish along that coast east of Malaga ... maybe they like the sewage?!

humidity this summer

aeound here, Axarquia Alta, summer heat did not really kick in til early-mid July ... even then it was not as hot as usual ... most days 30 ish ... but many more humid days than other years ... 60-70% ... what has summer been like for others?

know what you mean El Cid ... lots of ancient acequias around here ... shame they have directed the water into horrible black or orange plastic pipes now! but that water was used for agriculture ... I was told people stream water for washing clothes etc but spring water for drinking and cooking ... ...

was wondering if anyone knew when domestic water was piped to outlying hamlets ... must have been a major undertaking given the hilly terrain around here ...

A couple of years ago that infestation of cochineal bugs really decimated the chumbos around here and they have never recovered ... and we found those tiny white flies got in through the fly screens and were most irritating ... sad to hear they have now spread inland ...

around here there are all the recylcing bins spanish lad mentions but only one refuse lorry to collect it all ... so it does indeed all go in together ... but think of the cost of having separate vehicles to match the separate bins!

thanks so much TerryC ... at least now I have as clear an idea as possible (givenn this is Spain!) as to the process/costs/timescale/tax impications of updating an escritura ... and can leave such instructions/information for family when I die... again thanks very much

re that catastral amnesty ... I quote from one of Enrique's links: 'The Catastral office will contact any house owners where they have detected any irregularities.' ... so do I assume that if the catastral offices have not contacted me then they have not detected any irregularities?!

I am really puzzled about this ''catastral amnesty' ... if it was all of Andalucia, why did TerryC bother to go to such work and expense to update his escritura?
