Re: sending emails being rejected

Update to the update !
I tried to download my emails, and it wouldn't work, so I changed the settings back to what they had been & it worked perfectly. I complained to my ISP, and now it's a waiting game for the next failed 'send'.....

Re: sending emails being rejected

Update
Realising I had my days mixed up, I called my ISP this morning. They got me to change the beginning of the outgoing server address, so hopefully I won't have the problem anymore !

Re: sending emails being rejected

Hi Enrique ( & casita-bonita !),
It's Plusnet - I will try & give them a call but tomorrow is a pretty full day one way & another, followed by a regular Friday morning visit to my Dad, so it may be Fri afternoon before I get the chance to call them !
Thanks to both of you :-)

Re: sending emails being rejected

I'm back now & have followed your instructions - both outgoing server & server in settings show the same host - plus.net. So does this mean I need to contact my ISP ?

Thanks for this - I have to go out shortly, so will give it a go when I'm back. There is no attachment, just plain text, so it's not that !

Re: sending emails being rejected

Bizzarely, when I went to look for it, I found it in my Sent box ! I hadn't tried to send it, so it must have gone automatically - or does it just put an email in there as you've tried to send it ?

Re: anyone use OpenOffice for creating booklets ?

Just quickly before I download - is it standalone, or will I have to download stuff I don't need ?
Edit - is my pc x86_64 or x86 ? and which version should I get ?
another edit (I should have thought this thro !) I think the pc is the _64 option - I've just found it in 'System' :-)

anyone use OpenOffice for creating booklets ?

I used to use GSP Power Publisher, but it is no longer made, so I am trying Microsoft Publisher that came with Windows 7. I now find that Publisher 7 is no longer supported, and I'm getting cross as I can't see how to do things & can't get online help ! So I have turned my attention to OpenOffic...

browser for an android ?

My son has a Kindle Fire 8 tablet, which came with Amazon's browser (Silk or Sylk). He's finding it a pain on some sites, so I wondered if anyone else has one of these tablets &/or which browser would be best to use (& where to download it securely from !)
TIA
