Re: Spanish government planning action on owners of empty homes

My holiday home in N Wales is going to be subject to a 'fine' of up to 25% of my Council tax, as holiday homes have been lumped in with properties that are left empty for a year or more :-( I don't think it's fair, as we support local businesses & traders, but there's not much I can do about it..

Re: Cheapest sim only with online order

I'm the same - don't use my Spanish phone much. Following recommenations on here, I went for Hits (who are part of Telitec) - happy so far, and I paid a little extra (I think about 5 €) to keep the number for a year without top up, as opposed to the normal 6 months :-)

Re: not topped up

I had a similar problem with my Movistar PAYG mobile - as I wasn't visiting as frequently since hubby died, I'd forgotten to top it up every 6 months. I ended up with HITs mobile, a subsidiary of Telitec (run on Vodafone) - couldn't keep my old number as it was long gone, but for an extra small fee ...

Antequera is a good central area, but be aware that the station is a good taxi ride away (tho' there may be buses now) ;-)

Re: Non-resident tax app

If you 'agreed the calculation', then you must have worked that out yourself ? In which case, you've done the tricky bit & all you would need to do would be to enter the figures in the relevant boxes....

Re: UK State pension calculation

I also was born in 1955 ! I checked my pension a few years ago, and found that I too was short. There was a list of incomplete/empty years, and dates you had to pay by. Luckily a couple of years were short only a relatively small amount, so I topped them up, and then chose the next least expensive &...

Re: Track shown on catastro

Gasman - there isn't actually a track at all !! When you look on the aerial view on Google, you can see quite clearly where the actual tracks run - I have sent a copy to the purchasers solicitor via the circuitous route mentioned earlier - god knows when it will finally reach them ! It's probably to...

Re: Track shown on catastro

Yes, I was surprised too - I would have thought they would get a mortgage on their UK property (like what we did ;-) )
Edit: I don't think there is any chance of speaking to them - I'd probably end up on the naughty step (or worse) if I interfered.....
