Re: Septic tank emptying in El Gastor, andalucia

Never had mine done when we lived in the campo, but received wisdom said that if several of you got together and arranged for all your tanks to be emptiedon the one day, that's economy of scale and gets a cheaper price. €220 sounds OK if you consider it's a man with a truck and apparatus, an hour's ...

Re: water cooler/water dispenser in Malaga?

"There is a Spanish company that does this which tries to get clients with spam telephone calls " No doubt there are, but my neighbour has such a contract and seems satisfied EXCEPT there is a minimum number of water containers per week and as she lives alone, finds it a bit too much to dr...

Re: water cooler/water dispenser in Malaga?

Not too sure, but don't you go to a distributor (with vans) who deliver water in BIG plastic containers for fitting to chillers/dispensers that they "loan" to you? Mostly found in commercial offices/hairdressers etc? Less usual in domestic situations.

I've always found the internet to be a good place to go: espares.co.uk is good and, although a UK company, will post to Spain.

Re: Sold the house in Andalucia. Here's how it went.

Was I being petty? I could have formed a band called The Heartbreakers, been Free Fallin' whilst Learning to Fly and, however much she insisted, I Won't Back Down. That's how Petty I was, but they weren't getting my stuff after pulling that stunt. Bet you said "I'm Travelling, Will Bury it dee...

Re: IKEA Malaga

Final Update: Just received, by bank transfer, (so no trip to store needed) a full refund of the thousands I paid for the kitchen. Isn't amazing that they give a refund rather than deliver the stuff to complete the contract.  Thanks for all the suggestions about (token) retr...

Re: IKEA Malaga

have a rant on their Twitter and Facebook pages Will do. But I've just been promised, over the phone and with a bit of umming and erring, a refund within 3 days. I feel utterly humiliated by them: phoning to ask why the delivery has not been made; promises to call back not made; new delivery dates ...

Re: IKEA Malaga

Well! Here we go again. The 5pm to 9pm delivery slot that was supposed to bring my kitchen has now passed with the anticipated result of "nada". Their web site showed it as a failure at 8.30pm so what's that all about? No phone call. Nada. I've now had enough and I'll be in the Malaga stor...

Re: IKEA Malaga

Yeh! I know! I was being "inventive" in my arguments - a bit like Boris Johnson! I bought a flatpack kitchen - thousands of euros in total - and every time it is supposedly "put out for delivery", it never arrives, no attempt is made and I get a standard reply asking me to contac...

Re: IKEA Malaga

A tacit admission that their own offer was not good eh?
I'm still waiting for my stuff and if the nightmare ends (in whatever fashion) I'll tell the forum what's been going on. Meantime, trustpilot has IKEA Malaga at 1 star in their rankings with some devastating comments.

IKEA Malaga

Has anyone had problems getting stuff delivered from IKEA in Malaga? As you can probably surmise, I am having problems (promises, promises, promises!) and a quick trawl of the internet shows plenty of dissatisfaction, but I thought I'd ask this illustrious forum for any information/opinions it might...

Re: Does the team think

There is "Honey Fungus" here in Spain: I had a tree die when I had my finca and found copious quantities of white fungal strands in the soil. The RHS always had amazingly complex instructions for dealing with it, (look up their web site: https://www.rhs.org.uk/advice/profile?PID=180 ) but ...

Solar Water Heater and problems

We have a solar panel for hot water and it incorporates an electrical heating element for when the sun doesn’t shine. The installation is about 11 years old and the electrical element had had to be replaced twice in the last 2.5 years. The panel is about 6ft x 4ft with a lagged water tank atop. It s...

Re: Range Rover help!! Granada area

Well depending on the symptoms you may need a new pump True....but you might need new air bags. You'll have to diagnose the problem first and if that means a trip to a LR dealer, then so be it, but it'll cost. (Ask me how I Know :lolno: ) If cost is important there will be other workshops who could...

Re: Leroy Merlin - Little Faith

Not strictly on-topic, but I'm compelled to add my disatisfaction with Leroy Merlin as their on-line shopping "experience" leaves a lot to be desired! I ordered a wall lamp (not available in their Malaga store, but available for home delivery) and was told it would be delivered in 3 weeks!...

Then emptying it will not create any more problems for you. If the leak is somewhere in thefinished surface of the pool, you will have to empty it anyway to find the leak.

Re: fee-free bank account

Unicaja have something called "Plan Zero". Havent looked at it in detail, but I think it requires regular payments in and there is no charge for debit cards......must get around to it soon!
