Re: Leroy Merlin - Little Faith

Not strictly on-topic, but I'm compelled to add my disatisfaction with Leroy Merlin as their on-line shopping "experience" leaves a lot to be desired! I ordered a wall lamp (not available in their Malaga store, but available for home delivery) and was told it would be delivered in 3 weeks!...

Re: Problem with my pool leaking

Then emptying it will not create any more problems for you. If the leak is somewhere in thefinished surface of the pool, you will have to empty it anyway to find the leak.

Re: fee-free bank account

Unicaja have something called "Plan Zero". Havent looked at it in detail, but I think it requires regular payments in and there is no charge for debit cards......must get around to it soon!

Costakid wrote: you are going to spend a lot of money converting the speedo to kph, new headlamps and altering the rear foglight. Not necessarily. Are not "speedos" dual marked? Yes to headlamps but some cars have twin rear fogs anyway. However, agree with the need to carefully evaluate th...

There's a photo on an online newspaper showing (the?) borehole and it's about 30cm diameter. That's not good!

Re: UK driving licences valid in Spain?

The Grauniad article: full of "maybe; possibly; and could" type comments seems to dwell on the "possibility" (that doubtful word again) that a driving test "may" (again!) be needed. I exchanged my UK licence for a Spanish one with only bureaucracy being the stumbling bl...

Re: IPTV MAG BOX

I'm with Marios on this one.....until someone can persuade me otherwise! I can watch "my" rugby on BT Sport, and other sporting offerings (if that's your thing) on Sky, all UK terrestrial channels, catch-up if I want as well as 1000s of movies/boxed sets, music and radio as well. What do y...

Re: IPTV MAG BOX

My UK TV comes via a magbox and a company called "Eurona" with another company called "Fortec" in the loop somewhere. Complicated? You bet!. It is my own box and I have to have a Movistar land line (that's the part thats invoiced via Eurona I think.) It works OK - most of the tim...

Re: Malaga airport to Ronda?

I used to live near Ronda with guest letting accommodation and this was a frequently asked question. It's as Costakid and Manchesteral say: bus to Marbella bus station and then bus to Ronda, but the last time I looked for a visitor it was even better inasmuchas the first bus leg of the journey stops...

Bioethanol

Went browsing for pellet stoves today (as an alernative to my current, expensive electric heating system - see another thread about that!) and came across Bioethanol "estufas", some of which looked very attractive indeed. No need for flues either. Costs seem reasonable to buy and install, ...

Servicing Aircon/heat pump split units.

Anyone help with the above? I have several of these units and they are designed to provide the background heating in our (modern-ish) house. OK OK I know all about the cost of running them but it's what I've got! The indoor units have those fabric mesh filters which I keep clean regularly, but what ...

Re: Deceased Land Rover

Actually, I've just looked up the price on a web site I regularly use for my Td5 spares and a Freelander new starter motor is either 130 GBP or 150 GBP (neither is a LR official branded part) and the latter price will get you a Denso part (the original equipment maker) so I will revise my earlier co...
