Bioethanol

Went browsing for pellet stoves today (as an alernative to my current, expensive electric heating system - see another thread about that!) and came across Bioethanol "estufas", some of which looked very attractive indeed. No need for flues either. Costs seem reasonable to buy and install, ...

Servicing Aircon/heat pump split units.

Anyone help with the above? I have several of these units and they are designed to provide the background heating in our (modern-ish) house. OK OK I know all about the cost of running them but it's what I've got! The indoor units have those fabric mesh filters which I keep clean regularly, but what ...

Re: Deceased Land Rover

Actually, I've just looked up the price on a web site I regularly use for my Td5 spares and a Freelander new starter motor is either 130 GBP or 150 GBP (neither is a LR official branded part) and the latter price will get you a Denso part (the original equipment maker) so I will revise my earlier co...

Re: Deceased Land Rover

If you are handy with spanners, this is a repair kit (from fleabay) that can sort the problem for a while:

It bought me a year before I had to bite the bullet and spend hundreds on a new motor!

Glad you got it diagnosed

Re: Deceased Land Rover

Here's some useful stuff - not specific to a Td4 - but worthwhile background reading (as if you've nothing better to do!):

Re: Deceased Land Rover

I thought Td6 engines were Range Rover and Td4 were Freelander - both BMW derived units - but what do I know - I worship at the shrine of Td5 Discos!!! Two pieces of useful advice in all the above replies: 1. Join a specific forum dedicated to your vehicle viz. Freelanders 2. From all the clues you'...

Re: Passporting - what does it all mean re annuities

I'm still in the dark about the verb "passport". I thought it was a noun. What is "to passport"? I'm in exactly the same situation as fyfin and I can see absolutely no reason why my UK annuity provider cannot pay into my UK bank account as they have done previously and as they ha...

even Leroy Merlin would not change my address as a Socio without me producing a "NIE with current address". Ha! Ha!  They tried that with me. I then gave them (via Google translate) a rant about bureucracy, Napoleonic code instincts, the likely affect on business, and mind-numb...

Happened to my wife...Guardia suggested WE approach the (Ronda first, then Malaga) court to ask for an interpreter.......using the reference on the letter summoning her as a witness, a local Spanish friend phoned the court and asked on our behalf.
