Re: Taxes for residents

Bob said - <From what I can gather from the comments so far is that the Spanish government would tax me on my total assets and probably impose a wealth tax on top of that. Is the above correct or have I missed something.> The form 720 - done in March - is designed to show your assets abroad - there ...

Re: Taxes for residents

Are there not special rules for US citizens, whereby they have to pay taxes to the US no matter where they are resident? Bit foggy on this one, but I am sure there is some complication for US folk ... so you need to find out before considering becoming Spain-tax-resident, and if you have the option,...

I'l stick to Huelva then!!! Oh my - what a performance ... and we all know, don't we, from the experts on here that only bona fide RESIDENTS can sign on to the Padron at the Town Hall. Can only congratulate you on your patience and ingenuity, finally sneeking it through via Antequera ! Be interestin...

Woolie - we had occasion to travel back from Tavira to just past Altura, near Vila Real SA, on the N125 and were delighted to note that they have FINALLY managed to do some excellent resurfacing on the worst bits of road. Cannot vouch for the Tavira to Faro bit, but thought you and others on the for...

I suppose you have followed all the relevant posts on the forum ... you will need to make a Cita Previa on line via the website. Sorry, only dealt with Huelva, but I am sure you will be OK in Sevilla. Advice is, go prepared and that will ease the processus! We have always found that the staff do try...

Re: Common tourist phrases in bars and cafes

Take a look at why you got to hate French - presumably at school - and try to avoid the pitfalls. Try to use phrases that come easily, that they may have heard before, and do as much as you can out-loud, rather than written - at least initially, then show them the written version too. They are going...

Depending on your group of waiters' current level of English, which as you say may vary a bit, be careful of giving the less skilled too much in the way of general conversation - as we all know, it is all well good to start a chat in a foreign language, and then when you get the reply, be totally st...

Re: Property Won't Sell - Help!

There is also the small matter of a will. Did the deceased parent leave a will, was it written as a spanish will, and does the remaining parent thus inherit it ... which is perhaps why you are getting the escritura redone, in their name. Note that inheritance would be different under spanish will-la...

Lovely post Pamela - gives us hope for the future!!! Olive - it is not through lack of interest, more lack of experience. There are two what look like fairly well run homes for Mayores in our little town but we have no personal knowledge, nor information second hand from in-mates' relatives. I do kn...

Well - start off at Ayamonte, nice town, easily accessible by road and then pleasant down by the Marina, nice cafés and restaurants - if you want a quick trip down to the beach at Isla Canela passing the executive golf course en-route, it is about 10 minutes by car down to the little resort, and an ...
