Re: DAZN Help

DAZN does not work when you login with a DNS in Spain. It's a pain I know but that's the way it works. I have spoken to Smart DNS and they told me there was no solution at the moment. It must be something in the DAZN settings, detecting the DNS because it should still work outside Spain within the E...

It is now possible to control Spotify using Siri. Quite useful while driving.

Re: Well, the whatsapp's gone quiet!

Actually, I'm one of those cleverer shoppers who goes when others don't. I have never understood why the Spanish all like to go at the same time, then complain about the amount of people there when at around 2 on a Saturday afternoon, it's empty. Apart from that, I suppose I'm like other men. I know...

Re: Well, the whatsapp's gone quiet!

Or at the supermarket yesterday because I wasn't sure which version of a product I needed to buy. A quick photo of both, sent in seconds, avoided problems.Sending a map to someone trying to find your address or meeting point is another benefit. With sending email addresses and forwarding contacts, i...

UK TV on Netflix

More and more programs on UK TV are being co-produced by Netflix. For example, I'm a fan of the BBC drama 'Peaky Blinders'. The last series, just finished on BBC 1 a couple of weekends ago but is already on Netflix. The benefit of watching it on Netflix is that they have it in UHD.

Re: Well, the whatsapp's gone quiet!

Does "stopping support" mean the service will cease?...or just not progress? I've read about Telegram and Signal (above).....presumably my WhatsApp contacts will have to change as well? Anyone know? https://inews.co.uk/news/technology/whatsapp-windows-phone-stop-working-when-2019-date-and...

Even A.com uses cookies to gather information about us. We know this because the ad banners often reflect the theme of the thread. I personally have no problem with this but there are problems with Facebook when companies target certain people to reinforce their political views without any counter a...

Re: Well, the whatsapp's gone quiet!

I have had telegram for a while now and I can honestly say nobody has ever sent me a message using it apart from the automated ones generated when someone joins its service.. DA, We have had conversations via WhatsApp since you left Spain but because I am a light user, conversations end quite quickl...

Re: Tunein radio losing the Beeb

It looks like in this case, it is an advantage to live in Spain where BBC on Tunein in concerned. I'm pleased to report I have been woken up to BBC radio yesterday and this morning at 6:30 and got to work both days on time.

Re: Tunein radio losing the Beeb

Actually, it's due to a dispute over user data.
The old app doesn't work any more so you will need to use the new app. It's very similar in its usefulness but one great new feature is the ability to rewind programs so it's possible to listen to a program from the start while its still broadcasting.

Re: I'm now free to visit Spain again.

I drove to Holland in August on Spanish plates. If I picked up a fine while there and while driving through France and Belgium, by now should I be pretty confident not expect any nasty coming through my door?

Re: I'm now free to visit Spain again.

Just your luck getting caught up here. I'm not absolutely sure but it must be one of the only autonomous regions that use yellow reflectors on speed cameras so that they can be clearly be seen.
I assume you weren't going much over the limit due to the smallish fine.

Tunein radio losing the Beeb

I have received an email from Amazon telling me that BBC radio will be unavailable on their Echo devices from Monday. This is only happening in the UK so might not affect us in Spain. What I'm not sure about is whether the app is UK based so the app won't play BBC radio or if it will recognise the S...

Re: IPTV disappearing

I don't believe that my viewing habits would be much different were I living in the UK. Zapping and watching TV depending on the schedules is on the way out. Viewing figures bear this out.

All the gadgets advocated by members, and the way they are used, are for the UK market.

Re: Samsung TV issue

The default soundtrack is always Spanish. Quite a few channels including TVE1 and 2 A3 and La sexta have the option. If you change it on an individual channel. that channel might remember the new settings but it is more likely that you will need to change the settings every time you want to watch so...

Iphone repairs my opinion.

To balance the opinion of the recently locked post, In my opinion should you require a repair to your iPhone, I would always go to an authorised dealer before thinking about other options. In all cases I have been treated fairly by my local authorised shop (Not an Apple store). I started having prob...

Re: Samsung TV issue

Hi, I'm not exactly clear what you are asking but I get the impression that you believe that if you set your TV to English, you will receive English channels. This is not possible in Spain. However, many members have reset the settings to have access to the UK apps, allowing you to watch the BBC and...

Re: IPTV disappearing

It is not illegal to watch geo blocked content, It's against the terms and conditions of the company, I've always been against paying for content which is free, especially when you take into account that the Fire stick has TV Player, a decent Freeview service anyway so it's not necessary to watch th...

Re: Smarty BBC

I don't think any of them are absolutely perfect so I use more than one. I tend to use Smarty's VPN app on my mobile and Fire TV. It allows me to download BBC radio and watch over 4G and Smart DNS for the rest. This thread reminded me to pay the Smarty yearly invoice that they sent me at the weekend...

Re: tv

Again it's horses for courses. I want good audio for music but at the same time decent cinema surround sound. I also have to take my wife' opinion into consideration. Before I married I bought a very early pre-mini system 5.1 amplifier. However, the whole stack system and speakers were massive and m...
