Re: Headlamp adaptors for lhd car in uk

I got stopped in France just before we crossed into Belgium. They asked me some questions such as where I was going and asked me if I was travelling with more than 10,000 Euros. I wasn't until about a week later when we were on the ferry crossing into the UK, did I realise that France requires drive...

Re: Sold the house in Andalucia. Here's how it went.

Great post DA, it made interesting reading. It was a pity we couldn't meet up last week while you were here. Murthy's law I was in the UK while you were here. I hope Bilbao came up to expectations. At least we were able to update each other via WhatsApp..

Re: Hotels near M5

Just got back from the UK last night. The worst traffic was crossing from Stafford upon Avon to Cambridge. Cambridge to Dover was a doddle and took less than 2 hours, We allowed four hours because I had heard that the Dartford crossing was usually busy. Getting back to your question, We stayed in Tr...

Re: bein sports viewing

Yes, it is possible to watch for free and in fact I use Kodi and the like to sometimes watch Southampton when I can't watch anywhere else but it's not the same and can be rather frustrating when it suddenly stops especially when it does so every few minutes.

Re: Windows 10 - 1903

Now back home with my new laptop, bought in the UK. First task was to transfer the files I wanted to keep before from the old laptop before it is reformatted. It started in seconds even though it hadn't been used for over 2 weeks. This new one has the specs of a Mac for half the price i7, 16gbs ram ...

Re: bein sports viewing

It depends what you would like to watch. Bein had the right to quite a lot a couple of years ago but now they just have the Spanish league.
For English Premier league as well as the old second division, you need to subscribe to Dazn and for Champions league etc, Movistar.

Re: Router

I have an Ethernet adapter for my Fire stick, bought from Amazon for around 16 euros, avoiding the need for WiFi.
I also have it plugged into the router in which the DNS settings cannot be changed and use the SmartyDNS VPN app when I want to watch UK TV on it.

Re: Windows 10 - 1903

Mine does have those specs. That’s a main difference when the two OS are compared. Apple is always the same but Windows is on a wide range of computers making it genuinely difficult to compare the two. I wonder how one of the new branded Windows compares with a Mac. I should imagine favourably. I’ve...

Re: Windows 10 - 1903

Opened up Windows this morning......lovely cool breeze as a result :lolno: then booted up my iMac (about 15 seconds). Wish I'd taken the Mac OS route years ago. I know you like your Mac but I’m in the UK for a week and want to pick up a new laptop while I’m here. The laptop I’ve been usin...

Re: Windows 10 - 1903

An Android phone would be able to do the same, especially when we are talking about Google photos and YouTube for videos, also owned by google.
In settings it’s possible to only upload vía WiFi. My observations are the in general and would depend on upload limits.

Re: Windows 10 - 1903

For most users it doesn’t matter how long the download takes due to the fact it downloads in the background so you carry on doing tasks while it’s downloading. The PC cannot be used during the installation, which I didn’t time it but I don’t remember it being taking so long. Times have changed and i...

Re: DAZN

The price is definitely going to increase from the 5th August to 9.99 but for existing customers, it will stay at 4.99 until March. This offer stays open if you subscribe before the 5th so if you are thinking of subscribing for the new season, it would be a good idea to start now. They have also con...

I've updated all mine with no problems except my main one which is about to be relegated to a work one due to both its USB ports being broken, (Not enough hard drive space is the problem so I will clear some up space and update in the next couple of days) No USB ports is not a major problem because ...

in the town/suburb of Muskiz. Anyone know the area? Well yes, I will need to allow at least 5 minutes to get to the port. Head for the motorway direction Bilbao and take the very first exit. There is a train and It’s the last on the last the line so no complications there. The only problem is there...

Re: Bilbao ferry/overnight stay. Any tips please?

There are plenty of hotels with easy reach of the port. It actually depends when you will be here and how long due to the fact during August normal parking restrictions don’t apply. You could stay in Bilbao and include parking in your budget or stay closer to the port and take the underground or a t...

Brother in law from Madrid just hates driving in Granada... Ironic really, I got a fine driving in a restricted street in the centre of Madrid two summers ago, pre- badge days. I had come out of a car park and my destination from there was Granada. In Granda I stayed in the hotel Center, plenty of ...

Re: Bilbao ferry/overnight stay. Any tips please?

Bilbao is a little strange because it straddles 2 sides of a river, meaning that it’s actually impossible to avoid the centre of the city. It also means that motorways almost enter the city and from there to the port is around 20 minutes. I live on the opposite side of the river to the ferry port bu...

I also get these problems from time to time. when I'm directed to the DNS server's page when I log on to a BBC website page, it usually means the IP needs revalidating.
Switching off equipment also usually helps, especially the Fire TV.
