Re: The best home insurance?

Yes, they're fine. If you don't know already, it is normal in Spain to find that home insurance doesn't run to Accidental Damage. LD explained some years ago that, although it was normal for it to be included in northern Europe, in Spain it was written out, because there had been so many fraudulent...

Re: Flight delays from UK due to bad weather

I must have been lucky then. I have to be honest though, I didn’t Notice anything abnormal at Heathrow on Monday morning. It was rather busy but no more than any other busy period. I didn’t even have to queue for a breakfast sandwich nor was there any difficulty finding a seat in the departure loung...

Flight delays from UK due to bad weather

Very strange, I’m reading in the press that there have been severe delays flying in and out of Heathrow. I’ve just spent the long weekend in London. Left from Heathrow yesterday morning and although we left about 45 minutes late due to having to de-ice the plane, we caught up quite a bit of it on th...

I did mine too last year, Painless process, did everything online and got the new one in less than 2 weeks. Even got a text message or email advising me to expect it that day.

Re: Linea Direct Claim

I would suggest giving them a call quoting the posts on this thread and see if they will allow you to take it to the one of their agreed garages in order to speed things up

Re: Linea Direct Claim

Same here. Recently, My son’s car was hit three times in as many months. Each time the same, take it to their recommended garage, they take photos and send them to LD , who then call a week or so later to authorise the work. We have never had to pay any excess as it was always the other drivers faul...

Re: Source of 4k films etc

Be worth seeing in 4k if your tv is compatible http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-42225220 Pity, it seems that most 4K TVs over a year old won’t be able to see it in UHD. I would really like to see the series in 4K def. It seems that only a Roku stick 3810eu will work. It costs around £70 but I d...

Re: Source of 4k films etc

Most members with a Samsung Smart TV have changed the apps store to the Uk version. If you put your model number into Google, it will throw up the process if it is possible with you model.
It’s pretty simple to do.

Re: Source of 4k films etc

Netflix offer a lot of series and their own produced films in 4K for around 12euros a month.
Amazon Prime allows you to watch their video content, some of which is in 4K but at the moment is rather limited.
You should be able to have free one month trials of both to test the waters.

My mate Fred reckons he's heard the EU are entering a team in the next World cup. It"s bloody liberty. And that man in the White house reckons it's fine to repost tweets from a racist fascist true Brit political group. Before we know it, they will be banning Christmas. I'm off to eat one of tho...

Of course, watch this space is an apt expression as things might change as the UK leaves the EU. We might find we will need to have the card again.

Re: Barcelona safe - yes or no?

I would have to agree as well. There was a documentary about street crime In Barcelona some years ago on TV. The oddities of the legal system makes it difficult for police to take thieves of the street. It seems that more than something like 750€ has to be stolen before they can be charged.

Re: Barcelona safe - yes or no?

Don’t blame your facetiousness on me. ‘These acts’ is plural so can only refer to either the terrorist acts of violence or the Declaration of Independence plus the acts of violence. Not the the single declaration. ‘Act’ collates with violence, not independence. ‘Declaration’ collates with independen...

Re: Barcelona safe - yes or no?

When you consider it’s just declared itself illegally independent and no one has died as a result but suffered a terrorist atrocity all in the last few months, it is just as safe or dangerous as any European city at the moment. London, Paris as well as other have suffered the same fate and i wouldn’...

Re: Windows 10 1709 Update

I found Windows update nice and easy. I have it on automatic so hardly any pain. I’ve been checking cloud services and both Apple and Windows offer good deals. I use Apple’s 99p for 50GB a month offer, enough for my basics along with free Google and Amazon cloud, which forms part of Prime, for my ph...

Re: Spanish mobile use from USA

As far as I know the most economical way of using a phone is with the watsup app as calls are free as long as you stay within WIFI zones It might also be worth checking what short term deals are available in the States using a different sim. You would need to make sure your phone isn’t locked though...

My Gestor having my DS saves me a lot of time. Sometimes i need to send information regarding my autonomo status and proof from The tax and social security departments that payments are up to date.
I just tell him who needs what and it’s usually done within the hour.
