Re: Buying a 2nd hand moped

I saw mine on a car sales forecourt and had a test drive and bought it. It was 2 years old with 2,000 kms on the clock and I paid 1,800 euros for it. 10 years later still driving it daily. I've had to replace the carburettor, 2 new starter rings and a new drive clutch. But I've had a lot of use out ...

I am 9 km from the coast, as the crow flys, but at 620 m and need the heated rear screen regularly between September and May!

Re: Ryanair Flights & Entering Passport Information

With Ryanair part of you your Passport number is included on the boarding pass. They started this is 2016. It's in the yellow band on the top right and is preceded with a P, the first two numbers, a hypen, then the last four numbers. However this only appears on the paper copy on not on the mobile a...

Re: Tent on rustic land

The problem with asking the Town Hall is if you get someone on a bad day, or even a good day, they may just say no without really knowing what it is you want to do. Just put it up and if your local police lady comes calling apologise and take it down!

Re: Tent on rustic land

Why would it not be a serious post? Yurts can be pretty big. A friend of mine put one up and did not apply for permission as it's moveable. As long as it is on your land, not visually affecting your neighbours and you're not holding an illegal Rave, then I think you'll be okay!

Re: Intelsat I907 reception problem

If I'm not mistaken, did SatandPCman not say, a long time ago, that the satalite had run out of fuel and no further positional changes could be made and eventually it may go off line permanently. That was the reason I have avoided using it!.

Re: Recommendation for insuring a motorbike?

I'm with Linea Directa. If you have full bike licence you can ride a 125 cc anywhere! OK thanks. I read a few bad comments about Linea Directa but could just be the odd bad experience. Just to give you a good experience with Linea Directa. I parked up my 250 cc Scooter at Malaga airport, opposite t...

Re: car hire excess insurance

I have excess insurance but I hired a car from Firefly recently and they refused to recognise it. They're was no compromise, I left 1,500 Euro deposit, I took out their insurance or no car. I am sure if I had an accident I would get my deposit back from the excess insurance but it would involve hass...

Most projects in Gibraltar have a majority Spanish labour force hence the need to speak Spanish. Site agent and above are generally English speaking but not the coal face I'm afraid!

Re: Fitting a round window

Depending on how big it is you should not need a lintel. I put in one for a friend. 600 mm diameter through a stone and clay wall. The hole ended up massively bigger and just infilled the gaps with stone and mortar. Very easy job!

I store 12,000 ltrs but I'm on mains water. Just because you never know what is coming up. This rain has been wonderful and may secure our water for another year. For those on this Forum who think Spain does not have a water shortage, they are wrong. Store as much as you can.

I'm not sure where Brum is but I see they are flying 3 times a week to Manchester. They are a Norwegian company who have been flying within Europe for quite a few years. Why would you even ask if they are good!. Never mind the quality, feel the width. It's only 3 hours of your life!
