Re: Almunecar International school

Hi Dido, I've just signed number 2 son up for 2 years to take his A levels. He did a "listening day" in June and he loved it. The school provide a bus collection and delivery service to Frigiliana where I live and a very nice menu. He will have 15 students in his class from September. It i...

Re: Is it hot today?

As my name suggests, I do lot of hill walking and yesterday was my last day of the walking season. these last two weeks have been very difficult so I'm very happy the season is over. However I'm still receiving requests to guide walks during July and August. I'm refusing because its quite ...

Re: Civil Protection

They are a voluntary organisation that are designed to supplement the paid professionals in the Police, Forestry Rangers, Mountain rescue, etc etc.

At home we have the Civil Defence and I believe its the same sort of organisation.

Re: Can't afford autonomo

It explains why there is 23% unemployment.

I suspect that figure would halve overnight if social security was a percentage of salary.

Re: I got fined for my old moto I sold.

I'm going to the Gestor in the morning. The back tax is not a problem as it was paid up until the end of the year.
The fine appears to be inescapable by all accounts.

Re: Can't afford autonomo

Worth thinking about but I'm too worn out to try... just going to live off my meagre savings and when they're all gone, sell the house and take it from there   see it's finally driven me round the bend and I now truly believe that honesty  is not always the best policy and maybe ...

No I don't have the name or details. I naively assumed the buyer would get it re-registered.

I think I may have to report it as stolen..??

I got fined for my old moto I sold.

I did something REALLY stupid.....(again) :wtf:

I sold my little moto almost 2 years ago for a few hundred euros cash.

I got a fine for €100 in the post for some traffic violation last week.

I got no paperwork to prove I sold it...

any suggestions????

Re: Can't afford autonomo

I'm in a similar situation, too. I earn relatively low income but pay out €300 per month for tax and gestor. I closed down for three months in the summer (too hot for hiking) and stopped paying the Social Security for that duration on advise from my gestor. When I restarted it was simply a phone cal...

Looking for a second-hand GPS

I'm about to purchase a hand held GPS systems for my mountains walks. I've always relied on the old map and compass but I'm taking a mountaineering course with the Mountaineering federation and part of the course is how to use a GPS (properly :)) Amazon have some very good deals on-line but I though...

Re: Britain referendum now

Hopefully the referendum wont be too divisive. Some countrys have a long tradition of them, like the Swiss. In others, like Germany, they are forbidden by law. I'm not a big fan of referendum for complex issues. For the simple issues they are good but for multifaceted issues they are a bit of a blun...

I'm feeling a bit scared cos I think I might be the only European Federalist on the board.... :( Still, its worth pointing out, i think, that the agreement between the 17 and the other 9 will move the Fiscal Union and hopefully full integration a bit closer now.
